Medical Communications & Information Director

Location: Barcelona, Spain

Join us as a Medical Communications & Information Director in our Oncology Business Unit. This role is pivotal in supporting planning and leading delivery of our Medical Information (MI) services for assigned therapeutic areas. You will be responsible for ensuring quality, accuracy, and integrity of our GMI LTO activities, content delivery, and US Medical Legal Review (MLR). You will lead a dynamic team of MI Associate Directors and MIMs, including OSPs, reporting directly to the Senior Medical Communications & Information Director.

Accountabilities:

As a Medical Communications & Information Director, you will oversee scientific responses for medical inquiries, develop medical information materials, participate in the review and approval process for promotional and educational materials, and support medical education initiatives for end partners. You will stay abreast of the latest scientific developments, clinical data and treatment guidelines related to the assigned indication. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of content strategy, in partnership with GMALs, for the relevant indication(s).

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Advanced degree in Pharmacy (PharmD or equivalent experience, PhD, MD preferred), Pharmacology, science, or equivalent clinical experience.
  • 3 years leadership/management of Medical Information Teams/projects
  • At least 2-5 years of experience working with Commercial or Brand Teams in a pharmaceutical company
  • Ability to apply Global and US legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements as it applies to Medical Affairs.
  • Demonstrated expertise in drug information communication and management.
  • Demonstrated expertise in the review of promotional materials.
  • Experience with delivering MI services at a global and local level
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and interpersonal skills, with a customer focus.
  • Ability to translate scientific data to various audiences.
  • Ability to apply Global and US, legal, regulatory, and compliance requirements to Medical Affairs activities and drug information delivery.
  • Demonstration of critical thinking and proactivity.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects, teams and resources (suppliers and budgets).
  • Strong leadership, time management and organisation skills.

Desirable:

  • Global medical experience
  • Oncology experience
  • Clinical pharmacy experience with patient care exposure
  • Managed Markets or Health Economics Outcomes Research related experience
