Responsibilities
AstraZeneca is advancing its Commercial data transformation through the One Data Foundation, with a strong focus on harmonized, insight-driven data products that enable consistent, high-quality decision-making across the enterprise. To support this vision, GIBEX isestablishinga governed suite of Level 2 and Level 3 data products and standardized performance metrics across Customer Engagement, Brand Performance, and broader commercial domains, creating a single, trusted foundation for insights at global, regional, and market levels.
TheKPI Specialistplays a critical role within the One Data Foundation byestablishingand maintaining a unified, governed enterprise KPI baseline that serves as thesingle sourceof truth across markets and business areas. Reporting into GIBEX, the role ensures KPI consistency, prevents duplication, and embeds standardized definitions, calculations, and metadata within Collibra.
Acting as the bridge between raw data and strategic decision-making, the KPI Specialist partners with Markets, CAI, Commercial IT, and the Global Data Office to validate KPI requirements, challenge unnecessary complexity, and enable consistent, comparable performance measurement that supports commercial decision-making at scale.
Accountabilities
KPI Governance & Standardization
- Own andmaintainthe enterprise commercial KPI baseline
- Ensure consistent definitions, calculations, and taxonomy across markets and functions
- Review andvalidatenew KPI requests, preventing duplication and unnecessary complexity
- Enforce KPI governance frameworks aligned to enterprise strategy and usability
KPI Lifecycle & Data Governance
- Manage the full KPI lifecycle from creation to change and retirement
- Maintain Collibra as the authoritative repository for KPI definitions, metadata, ownership, and lineage
- Ensure version control, traceability, and impact assessment for KPI changes
- Partner with GDO and Commercial IT to align KPI governance with enterprise data standards
Performance Insight & Optimization
- Monitor KPI usage and relevance toidentifysimplification or retirement opportunities
- Analyze performance trends and gaps to support actionable commercial insights
- Continuously benchmark KPI practices against internal and external best practices
Stakeholder Enablement & Collaboration
- Act as the primary KPI subject matter expert for Markets and central teams
- Facilitate KPI workshops, training, and communities of practice
- Provide consultation on KPI design, interpretation, and best practices
- Participate in cross-functional governance forums to prioritize KPI changes and enhancements
Education, Qualifications,Skillsand Experience
Essential
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Data Science, Statistics, Engineering, Information Management, or related field
3–5 years’ experience in KPI management, performance measurement, data governance, or business analysis
At least 2 years’ experience in Pharmaceutical or Healthcare commercial environments
Proven experience with data governance or metadata management platforms (Collibra preferred)
Experience designing andmaintainingenterprise KPI frameworks
Strong analytical, documentation, and problem-solving skills
Ability to work cross-functionally and influence senior stakeholders
Strong communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management capabilities
Ability to manage multiple initiatives in parallel with high attention to detail.
Desirable
Master’s degree in Business, Data Science, Statistics, or related field
Pharmaceutical Commercial Operations experience
Experience with Power BI or similar enterprise reporting tools
Knowledge of performance management frameworks (BSC, OKRs, ISO)
SQL or data querying experience
Familiarity with data quality frameworks and stewardship practices
KPI, Collibra, or BI platform certifications
Experience working in shared services, matrixed, or multinational environments
