Global Pricing Implementation (GPI) Director, Oncology
Location: Barcelona

We are seeking a Pricing Implementation Director, you will contribute to the development of global pricing policies, leading launch sequencing project and driving the execution of the pricing policy of launch brands in Oncology, supporting the pricing and reimbursement negotiations with local payers as required. You will manage price changes for in-market brands to maximize commercial return for your Therapeutic area , supporting markets with tactics to optimize their price negotiation position and develops strategies to limit impact on sales and contribution. You will provide strategic direction to the markets and Marketing Companies on management of changes in the pricing and reimbursement environment, innovative pricing and optimization of prices. You will work in close collaboration with Global Price and Reimbursement Directors to optimize price and access of AstraZeneca portfolio, interacting directly with the senior stakeholders in the global and regional organization ensure their endorsement of price proposals and risk mitigating strategies.
You will work collaboratively with the other members of the GPI team aligned to the therapeutic area, creating a cohesive team of experts driving positive pricing outcomes for the brands across the Oncology.
You will be the principal expert on pricing methods and innovative pricing schemes for Oncology and leading the markets in implementation of these tactics to maximize commercial return for the portfolio. You will take an active role in ensuring that price reporting tools are up to date and accurate price reporting can be provided to the business using a variety of tools and resources available to you.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of global pricing and market access strategies for new product launches by providing regional specific insights and recommended launch sequence.
- Lead execution of pricing strategies of oncology brands across your markets; establish launch sequence and collaborate with markets in the development of negotiation strategies to optimise pricing and reimbursement. Support marketing companies (MCs) in preparing price proposals, pricing submissions and in local payer negotiations.
- Lead the assessment of proposals for price changes of in-market brands and, in cooperation with MCs, develop strategies to limit impact on regional sales and contribution. Prepare recommendations to the EVP on price proposals and risk mitigating strategies.
- Provide strategic direction to business and MCs on management of changes in the pricing and reimbursement environment, innovative pricing and optimization of prices throughout the brand life cycle in collaboration with the Pricing and Market Access Director(PMAD) for the brand as well as regional access leads. .
- Liaise with Market Access & Government Affairs teams to build evidence that helps optimise pricing and market access on country and product levels (provide recommendations on optimal reference baskets, cross-country implications of local cost containment measures).
- Develop innovative pricing skills in the organisation, pilot innovative pricing models and drive knowledge of this across markets, brands and regions.
- Perform industry benchmarking and enable cross-country best practice sharing and knowledge transfer for pricing.
- Develop, maintain and operate pricing models (global/regional launch sequence, reference pricing).
- Ensure an appropriate pricing policy and governance process is in place to ensure pricing strategies are implemented and monitor ongoing compliance
Essential Skills
- University degree (economics, finance or health economics, sciences).
- Experience in executing price strategies, developing launch sequences and negotiation strategies for local payer negotiations.
- Expertise in pricing and reimbursement regulations and processes across key markets, applying country-specific requirements to secure access and optimize launch strategies.
- Experience of developing pricing and reimbursement strategies in an international environment.
- Expertise in qualitative and quantitative pricing data interpretation, translating findings into evidence-based pricing strategies and value narratives.
- Experience of leading without authority cross- functional teams to deliver and communicate innovative customer solutions based on detailed customer insight.
Desirable Skills
- Experience working with customers on evidence-based customer solutions eg. through working with local payers in Europe or international markets (3-5 years)
- Experience preparing reimbursement submissions and negotiating with local payers (3+ years)
- Experience in managing price through the LCM (Life Cycle Management) and securing brand value over the life of a product. (3+ years)
- Experience in senior finance business partner role exposed to cross functional product team.(3+years)
- Experience in a marketing company in a commercial strategy function eg managed markets brand director, business development director, head of pricing/access. (2-5 years)
- Experience in therapy area of oncology is desirable understanding the unique elements of oncology treatments and drugs is desirable.
