Are you ready to lead the medical strategy that transforms how patients living with cancer are treated? Do you want to turn breakthrough science into evidence and access that change clinical practice and patient outcomes?

As a Global Medical Affairs Leader in Pancreatic cancer, within the GI and Emerging Portfolio team, you will guide how our therapies are understood, adopted and optimized worldwide. You will shape integrated medical plans, drive evidence generation and scientific exchange, and partner across functions to accelerate impact. Your leadership will connect our scientific advances to real-world benefit, ensuring physicians have the data they need at every point in the patient journey.

Accountabilities:

  • Medical Affairs Strategy Leadership: Define and lead a coordinated medical vision and strategy for Pancreatic Cancer and the pipeline assets, delivering clear medical insight that guides global priorities and accelerates patient impact.

  • Integrated Evidence and Communications: Build and execute integrated medical plans across evidence generation, scientific communications, medical education, diagnostics and patient-centric initiatives to change clinical practice and inform decision-making.

  • External Sponsored Research and Early Access: Lead global ESR and EAP strategies and align with country teams to enable timely patient access and generate robust data that strengthens clinical confidence.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Partner with development, early research, regulatory, commercial, access, health outcomes and marketing companies to align on data generation, scientific messaging and access strategies that drive adoption and value.

  • Scientific Exchange and Stakeholder Engagement: Engage global external experts and internal teams to deepen scientific and clinical understanding of the brand, shape external dialogue, and build advocacy based on high-quality evidence.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Provide a leadership and coordinated approach to building AstraZeneca’s medical leadership and deliver medical insight into the development and execution of a medical affairs strategy.

  • Oversee and support the development and execution of integrated medical plans (evidence generation and scientific communications) and narratives, interactions with global external experts, scientific exchange, medical education, diagnostics and patient centric initiatives.

  • Lead development and execution of global External Sponsored Research (ESR) and Early Access Program (EAP) strategies and align with AstraZeneca Global Medical Affairs and Marketing Countries on local implementation.

  • Partner closely with cross-functional colleagues, including marketing companies, development, early research, regulatory, commercial, access, health outcomes and other key functions to help build alignment on key initiatives including optimal approach to data generation, scientific communication and supporting access.

  • Interface with internal and external stakeholders to enhance the scientific and clinical understanding of the brand with other members of the Medical Affairs teams.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

Advanced clinical or scientific degree (MD, PhD, PharmD) with significant oncology experience, ideally in  GI oncology.

Local Medical Affairs experience

Proven track record in generating and communicating impactful medical evidence, including publications, congress activities and expert engagement.

Experience leading global medical strategies for launched or late-stage oncology assets, including diagnostics and biomarker integration.

Strong understanding of access, health outcomes and real-world evidence methodologies across major markets.

Exceptional communication and influence skills, with a history of successful cross-functional leadership in complex, matrixed environments.
