The Associate Director of Commercial Platform will handle core commercial platforms like Veeva CRM, SFDC (Salesforce.com), and content management & distribution platforms (Align & MDM). This role involves working closely with business partners and development teams to ensure timely delivery of technical components with desired quality in all phases of SDLC for new applications and improvements in existing apps.

Accountabilities

• Work closely with third-party/vendor onshore/offshore resources and the Global IT team to manage, maintain, and deliver value through robust unified commercial platforms.

• Assist the Director in running capital and expense budgets and vendor contract negotiations.

• Ensure key technical components are delivered on time and with desired quality in all phases of new application development or improvements to existing applications.

• Supervise internal and external development teams for alignment to best practices and standards, including security, architecture, coding standards, deployments, and operating procedures.

• Drive the creation and maintenance of streamlined processes for implementing the long-range strategy and roadmap of applications ensuring alignment with Veeva and business needs.

• Collaborate globally with business partners and internal IT stakeholders to gather business requirements and implement IT strategies.

• Lead direct reports and additional onshore/offshore resources from vendors or temporary staff by recruiting, training, and mentoring employees and communicating job expectations.

• Lead Commercial Pharma business applications including Veeva CRM and Salesforce.com by:

  • Operational monitoring and improvements including backup strategy, Disaster Recovery, and archiving.

  • Developing and enforcing release management strategy and development standards.

  • Providing architectural oversight.

  • Balancing the demand for improvements and changes with available resources.

  • Coordinating support teams to ensure resolution of Incidents and Service Requests per SLAs.

Essential Skills/Experience

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Business, or equivalent experience required

• Minimum of 5 - 10 years of experience with Salesforce.com, Veeva CRM, and Veeva Vault Platform and their functions, related data sets, integration methodology, and support approaches. Understand the industry landscape for these applications and tools to establish and measure KPIs and benchmarks.

• Strong development and architecture experience on Cloud platforms, API development, Integrations

• Strong customer focus with emphasis on usability and simplification

• Shown experience in working with global business and IT teams to collaborate and gather business requirements

• Deep technical competency with the ability to lead by example and drive change

• 5 - 10 years of demonstrated progress in leading projects/applications of increasing size and complexity.

• 5 - 10 years of experience managing vendors and/or managed service providers.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills are required, with the ability to interact with application owners and users. Must be able to translate between technical requirements and business requirements to effectively achieve results.

• Ability to adapt and respond effectively to change, delay, and or shifting priorities and goals.

• Self-directed with the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and to enthusiastically drive project milestones to successful completion.

• Attention to detail, effective problem solver, assertive decision-maker, facilitator, and communicator.

Desirable Skills/Experience

• Veeva CRM or Salesforce.com Certifications
