ABOUT THE ROLE

Job Purpose:

As a Field Medical Advisor, you will execute the Medical Affairs Plan for assigned therapeutic area(s), providing scientific support for AstraZeneca products while building scientific partnerships with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs) and Key External Experts (KEEs). You will contribute to the implementation of the medical strategy through scientific exchange, stakeholder engagement, evidence generation, and actionable medical insights that enhance patient care and support the adoption of innovative medicines.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage in scientific exchange with Healthcare Professionals (HCPs), Key External Experts (KEEs), and other relevant stakeholders in line with medical objectives.
• Maintain deep clinical and scientific expertise in the disease area, AstraZeneca products, emerging therapies, and the competitive landscape.
• Build and maintain scientific relationships with HCPs, KEEs, healthcare institutions, and other key stakeholders to support ongoing scientific dialogue.
• Support the development and execution of the Field Medical Strategic Plan and provide scientific support to internal and external stakeholders.
• Organize and facilitate scientific meetings, symposiums, advisory boards, and other non-promotional medical activities.
• Support evidence-generation activities, including clinical studies, investigator-sponsored research, publications, and collaborations with Clinical Research Operations.
• Gather and communicate actionable insights from the external medical environment to inform medical, product, and clinical development strategies.
• Support patient access by aligning scientific engagement with medical strategy, patient journey needs, and healthcare system priorities.
• Leverage digital tools and innovative approaches to enable scientific exchange and patient-centric solutions.
• Ensure compliance with AstraZeneca standards, applicable regulations, and pharmacovigilance requirements in all medical activities.

Job Requirements:

Essential Criteria:

• Medical Doctor (MD) or Pharmacist.
• 3+ years of experience in a similar role in Medical Affairs, within a multinational pharmaceutical company.
• Experience in specialty lines (e.g., Oncology, Hematology, Rare Disease, Metabolic Diseases).
• Proven stakeholder-management track record with KOLs, HCPs, and cross-functional partners.
• Strong expertise in stakeholder engagement and relationship management with HCPs and KOLs.
• Demonstrated ability in project management and cross-functional collaboration.
• Excellent scientific knowledge, presentation, and communication skills.
• Flexibility to travel as business needs require.
• Experience working directly with a brand-owning company (not solely through a distributor) or, if working with a distributor, clear evidence of close collaboration with the parent/mother company.

Preferred Criteria:

• Post-graduate degree (e.g., MSc, PhD) in a relevant scientific or medical discipline.
• Experience in account management.
