BUSINESS AREA
In the Rare Diseases Business Unit we relentlessly follow the science, challenging the status quo to deliver more effective treatments to patients in need. Our commitment means we purposefully push back the limits of knowledge to change the practice of medicine. To ensure no patient is left behind, no matter what stage of disease.
We have an opportunity for a Brand Manager role in the Rare Diseases Business Unit.
The Brand Manager plays a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. S(he) will be the brand owner of planning and executing the external strategic plan with key customers for our product. This position will report directly to the Rare Diseases Business Unit Director and will work in close partnership with cross functional team including sales, medical and other functions to ensure we have a strong market presence.
What you’ll do
- Understands and articulates the patients’ perspective from the moment of diagnosis and throughout their journey. Uses this and marketplace insight to deliver effective and competitive Strategic and Tactical Marketing plan(s)
- Ensures that strong external relationships within Rare Disease of interest are built and maintained
- Leads the creation of innovative and highly effective Strategic brand plans for the Brand, identifies and maximizes new growth opportunities
- Implements a truly cross-functional account planning and customer engagement strategy for the Brand and regularly seeks feedback to ensure effectiveness and explore new and innovative approaches
- In conjunction with procurement, sources and engages external agencies and suppliers to enhance Brand performance. Leads regular performance review meetings to ensure optimal performance
- Oversees the budget management for the Brand
Essential for the role
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in scientific or business discipline
- Minimum three (3) years of strong marketing background in pharmaceutical market
- Cross functional collaboration mindset
- Successful Product Launch Record
- Account management experience
- Communication skills
- Strategic thinking with a strong understanding of market shaping & brand building
- Analytical thinking and data synthesis ability
- Result-oriented mindset
- Effective stakeholder and relationship management experience; able to interact at multiple levels within and outside of AstraZeneca
- Fluency in English and Greek language
Desirable for the role
- Master’s Degree
- Experience in Rare Diseases is highly preferable
