Global Study Associate Director
Haematology Clinical Operations | Fulltime

Are you ready to help drive global clinical studies that can make a real difference to patients' lives?
At Acerta Pharma, part of the AstraZeneca Group, we are committed to improving treatment options for patients with haematological malignancies. As our portfolio continues to grow from early development through registration and beyond, we are looking for an experienced and proactive Global Study Associate Director to join our Clinical Operations team.
In this role, you will help lead the operational delivery of global haematology studies and work closely with colleagues across functions, countries, and development stages. This is a visible role with real impact, offering strong opportunities for growth and development within an international environment.
The role
As Global Study Associate Director, you will be responsible for the end-to-end operational planning and delivery of complex global clinical studies. You will play an important role in shaping how studies are delivered - not only by keeping them on track, but also by helping define the operational approach, bringing teams together, and driving high standards across study execution. This role is not limited to one development phase. We welcome candidates with experience across different stages of clinical development, from early phase through to late phase and registration studies.
You will work closely with Senior Global Program Directors and be part of a collaborative global team with colleagues across multiple countries. In our haematology Clinical Operations department, we highly invest in our people to grow and develop towards a more senior global project leadership path.
Your impact
In this role, you will:
Lead and support a cross-functional global study team.
Drive the operational strategy for your studies, not just the day-to-day execution.
Ensure studies are delivered on time, within budget, and in line with quality and regulatory standards.
Act as a key operational partner to senior program and clinical team stakeholders.
Contribute to program-level initiatives and continuous improvement projects.
Build strong working relationships across teams, functions, and regions.
Help create a collaborative way of working that supports both quality delivery and team effectiveness.
What you bring
We are looking for someone who combines clinical operations experience with a practical, collaborative approach.
You will likely bring:
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in clinical research, with at least 3 years of clinical development project management experience.
Experience within the pharmaceutical and/or with CRO is a must (oncology /haematology experience is a bonus).
Experience managing or contributing to complex international studies in a structured and proactive way.
The ability to balance strategy and delivery.
Confidence working with colleagues and stakeholders across countries and functions.
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage priorities in a changing environment.
A leadership style that is clear, supportive, and team focused.
Fluent English, both written and spoken.
You are currently living in the Netherlands and hold an EU passport.
Why join Acerta Pharma
This is an opportunity to join a company working at the forefront of innovation in haematology and to contribute to studies that matter to patients worldwide. You will be part of an international and collaborative team, with the chance to grow your experience, broaden your exposure, and help shape the delivery of important global clinical programs.

About AstraZeneca Oncology R&D, Amsterdam
At AstraZeneca Amsterdam, we bring together two research groups, in haemato-oncology and next-generation cell therapy research. Together, they form our Oncology R&D hub in the Netherlands, working closely with colleagues in the US, Canada, Spain and the UK, to develop innovative treatments for patients with cancer.
Our hematology R&D group was born as Acerta Pharma, one of the Netherlands’ greatest biotech success stories. Its small-molecule BTK inhibitor has been approved by both the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) and the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for the treatment of Chronic Lymphocytic Leukaemia (CLL) and Mantle Cell Lymphoma (MCL). In Amsterdam approximately 100 colleagues continue the development of new therapies for haematological malignancies under the AstraZeneca brand name.
AstraZeneca’s Cell Therapy R&D team focuses on developing next-generation T-cell receptor (TCR) therapies targeting neoantigens in solid tumours. With a team of around 75 scientists, we work on both fully individualised and shared neo-antigen approaches, with the aim of improving outcomes for patients with cancer.
Our oncology research and development hub is anchored by our new state-of-the-art laboratories in OneHelix and the adjacent Plus Ultra Amsterdam building, both located on the Amsterdam University Medical Centre (Amsterdam UMC) campus. Our hub is firmly positioned at the heart of the Dutch research community, creating new opportunities for our people and science as we work to transform the lives of patients.
