The AstraZeneca Baselga Cancer Research Scholars Program is a competitive, two-year immersive rotational program that provides valuable opportunities for early-career oncologists to gain first-hand experience in and launch a career in drug development with the aim of transforming patient care.

The AstraZeneca Baselga Cancer Research Scholars Program

The Baselga Cancer Research Scholars Program, initiated in 2020, is a competitive, 2-year immersive education and research program for early-career oncologists who are inspired by science and how clinical development has the potential to transform patient care.  This unique program, focused on clinical research and professional development, is designed to attract and cultivate talented oncologists with a passion and drive for drug development, and embody AstraZeneca's values. Learn from a diverse and inclusive team of the brightest minds, working together to move our pipeline forward and shape the future of Oncology. Through immersive clinical study team experience, cross-functional rotations, and a longitudinal research project, Baselga Scholars develop the skills and perspectives needed to become future leaders in oncology drug development.

How to Apply

Baselga Scholars applications are open through October with the interview and selection process concluding at the end of the calendar year. Designed to coincide with academic calendars, most Baselga Scholars begin their work at the conclusion of their fellowship, between May and August.

Baselga Scholars must possess an MD or equivalent and are ideally board certified (or eligible) in Oncology or Haematology/Oncology. This program is not designed as a post-graduate training program but rather as an entry point for oncologists ready to build their career at AstraZeneca.
