We aim to get people together and accelerate opportunities for innovation to occur. What we’ve seen is a boost in collaboration and productivity, and an even greater spirit of scientific inquiry than ever.

Gaithersburg, MD, U.S.
Gaithersburg, MD is home to MedImmune’s headquarters . It is also one of AstraZeneca’s three global hubs. The campus is located in the BioHealth Capital Region,a thriving entrepreneurial ecosystem spanning the life-science companies, federal labs and top research universities of Maryland, Virginia, and Washington, DC. Our spacious campus and open, collaborative work spaces creates an environment where innovation propels science forward. We also offer accessible, affordable, quality healthcare at our Employee Health and Wellness Centre, and a well-equipped Fitness Center.
Our employees at Granta Park are focused on the research and early development of our biologics portfolio. MedImmune has built on the local legacy of Cambridge Antibody Technology (CAT) – acquired by AstraZeneca and integrated with MedImmune in 2007 – where three marketed products—Humira, Benlysta and raxibacumab—were invented. We have strong collaborative links with numerous academics, researchers, foundations and neighbouring companies in the largest biotech cluster in Europe, as well as an active outreach programme within the local community.
Our new facility—in the centre of the Cambridge Biomedical Campus—will be an open, welcoming and vibrant centre that will inspire our team and our partners to push the boundaries of scientific innovation.
Mountain View, California
Mountain View, California
Located in California's Silicon Valley, and with a focus on translational sciences and precision medicine, our Mountain View campus keeps MedImmune plugged into the Bay Area Biotech Hub. For more than a decade, our employees have focused their effort on four areas, including developing therapies for specific molecular targets, designing innovative trials to assess the clinical utility of predictive biomarkers, analysing big data sets to inform clinical decisions, and delivering the most appropriate therapy to patients based on clinical and molecular features of disease through biomarker strategies.
Beginning in Q4 of 2017, the AstraZeneca campus, which will include MedImmune employees, will be located in the Cove at Oyster Point. The Cove will offer modern, energizing, and collaborative facilities, in addition to housing best-in-science laboratory technology. The campus will provide access to a host of shared amenities and conveniences including Caltrain, BART, ferry transportation, fitness and recreation, restaurants, and shopping
What we offer
Open and collaborativeEverything about the way we work is designed to encourage and inspire collaborative and open working across teams, geographies, specialities and industries. From the design of our offices and work spaces to the way we organise workflows and projects, we aim to maximize opportunities to share ideas, inspiration and knowledge, both with colleagues and through clinical, government and university collaborations. Since 2013, we have completed 85 collaborations and four acquisitions – all to advance the development of our biologics.
Inspiring working environmentsThe Washington Post placed us in its list of the Top 25 Workplaces for 2015. Here, you’ll find everything from beanbag rooms for creative brainstorming, to games rooms, Zen gardens, treadmill stations, onsite massage and regular campus happy hours. You’ll find a ‘work hard, play hard’ mindset here – when we’re not blazing new trails in science, we like to have fun.
Giving something back
We value the areas and communities we’re a part of. So we give back to a range of projects and initiatives in the areas in which we have a presence. In addition to local community projects, we contribute robustly to projects focused on patient support and disease awareness, as well as science education, mentoring, and supporting scientific meetings and symposia. Additionally, we encourage our people to participate in community outreach activities whenever possible.
