AstraZeneca is seeking a Senior Functional Dev Ops Engineer to join our R&D IT Solution Delivery Team. In this role, you'll manage and maintain our clinical data analytics solutions, ensuring they meet the highest standards of compliance. You'll collaborate with a multi-functional team, driving ground-breaking projects that harness the power of data, machine learning, and technology. Accountabilities:
- Build, test, deploy, and release fixes adhering to SDLC and ITIL processes using Agile methodology.
- Address application enhancements and upgrades as needed.
- Own L2/L3 level tickets/tasks and drive them to resolution.
- Troubleshoot application issues, and provide fixes through code changes when required.
- Resolve user-reported issues within defined timelines.
- Proactively monitor support channels, acknowledging and responding to issues swiftly.
- Liaise with internal teams/vendors for application and project support.
- Communicate effectively during planned/unplanned outages and lead resolution calls.
- Maintain documentation standards by creating and publishing Knowledge Base Articles.
- Manage JIRA backlogs, stories, and epics based on business priority.
- Engage with collaborators effectively.
- Continuously learn and upskill in alignment with organizational goals.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
- Proven experience in analytical and reporting tools.
- Experience in data engineering and data pipelines.
- Proficiency in inbound/outbound integration and ETL processes.
- Effective team player across programming, biostatistics, data management, and clinical sciences.
- Knowledge of relational databases and clinical data management systems.
- Familiarity with change management in a GxP-validated SaaS environment.
- Excellent communication skills and relationship management.
- Independent working capabilities with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodology.
- Experience with JIRA, Confluence, BitBucket.
- Engineering approach for Clinical Data Solutions design and implementation.
- Ability to manage diverse stakeholders and deliver with high satisfaction.
- Strong communication skills for leading technical personnel and senior stakeholders in urgent situations.
- Knowledge of build tools and CI/CD platforms.
- Experience with Cloud Platforms like AWS, and Azure.
- Programming experience in Java or similar languages.
- Experience in workshop material development, training, gap analyses, or requirements gathering.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Experience with EDC build (Rave)/Inform and global library maintenance support.
- Familiarity with SaaMa, life science data hubs, or e-clinical systems.
- Self-motivated contributor to rapidly evolving programs.
- Experience in a global organization with dispersed stakeholders and team members.
- Specialized analysis and reporting standards development expertise.
- Accredited certifications from SCDM/ACDM or vendor-offered data management training.
- Comprehensive knowledge of clinical trial development processes and systems.
- Implementation experience with IT Solutions Industry Standards (e.g., SDTM CDISC).
- Understanding of FDA/ICH guidelines for clinical study data.
- Experience with external vendors and CROs for standards or EDC integrations.
