Primary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the overall health and wellness of the SAS GRID platforms
  • Designs, implements, and maintains platform security via SAS Metadata, Red Hat Enterprise Linux and LSF
  • Establishes best practices and guidelines for usage of the SAS platform
  • Supports issues reported by end users and provides quick and appropriate resolution

Additional and/or Secondary Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the overall health and wellness of the Validated and Non-Validated applications.
  • Provides an exceptional support level for end-users support application functionality, ensuring the business continuity.
  • Establishes best practices and guidelines for usage of Incident Management, Problem Management, Change Management.
  • Supports issues reported by end users and provides quick and appropriate resolution

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience administering SAS platform in a multi-node GRID environment with Linux OS.
  • Hands-on experience as a SAS administrator of the 9.x suite in a Linux environment performing system monitoring, log analysis, performance analysis, performance tuning and capacity planning.
  • Experience monitoring grid and make sure that nodes are balanced with SAS generated code running efficiently across grid
  • Knowledge of configuration files such as autoexec, configuration and environment files.
  • Ability to install hot fixes, service packs, upgrades as well as add-on software components.
  • Be able to translate a customer’s business needs to a solution on the SAS GRID platform.
  • Collaborates with storage, server, LDAP, database and other IT administrators to support ongoing operations for meeting the business needs via the SAS environment.
  • Be able to generate written documentation of all work performed
  • Have a customer-focused demeanor, effective oral and written communication skills
  • Troubleshooting and root cause analysis of production issues
  • Assisting in development/maintenance of process automation
  • Superior customer service skills
  • Familiarity with Unix shell scripting
  • Ability to multi-task and address complex support issues in a mixed technology environment
  • Be able to work on incidents & requests and resolve it within agreed SLA’s
  • Incident Management, Problem Management and Change Management using Service Now or Remedy Platform.

Desired Skills & Experience:

  • SAS Platform functionality Knowledge.
  • Knowledge in Base SAS programming is a plus
  • Netapp  & RHEL administration experience is a plus
  • Experience with Hadoop stack, preferably with Cloudera CDH is a plus
  • Experience with Hue, Hive, Impala and SQL Databases is a plus
