SAP Project Manager

Key Responsibilities

  • Scope & Planning: Assist in defining SAP project scope, objectives, and success criteria; support estimation and planning with relevant stakeholders and ensure technical feasibility.
  • Delivery Coordination: Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors; maintain project schedules, RAID logs, and status reports; track milestones and dependencies.
  • Resource Management: Support resource planning with SAP Capability Managers, considering global priorities and capacity.
  • Governance & Methodology: Execute activities using the AstraZeneca Project Delivery Framework; comply with governance checkpoints and documentation standards.
  • Risk & Issue Management: Identify, log, and monitor risks, actions, issues, and decisions; manage change requests and escalate per agreed thresholds.
  • Testing & Quality: Support test planning and execution coordination (SIT, UAT), including entry/exit criteria, defect triage, and test evidence in validated environments.
  • Change Control & Compliance: Ensure adherence to change control, audit readiness, and traceability in line with GxP and SOX requirements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Facilitate communication, workshops, and decision forums; prepare clear updates for project sponsors and leadership.

Required Skills and Experience

  • SDLC & Delivery: Understanding of the software development lifecycle and systems delivery basics.
  • Communication: Strong customer-facing and internal communication skills; ability to present concise status updates and risks.
  • Tools: Working knowledge of SAP Solution Manager or equivalent ALM, and ITSM tools such as ServiceNow.
  • Organization: Solid organizational skills with attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple workstreams.
  • Productivity: Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and basic MS Project or equivalent scheduling tools.
  • Compliance: Experience in a validated environment or familiarity with GxP and SOX concepts.
  • Ways of Working: Experience collaborating with globally distributed teams in a matrix structure.
  • Languages:English and Spanish with strong written and spoken proficiency; Portuguese is a plus.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel as required by project phases.

Nice to Have

  • SAP Exposure: Familiarity with core SAP technologies or modules (e.g., FI/CO, MM, SD, PP, QM, TM, EWM, BW/4HANA, S/4HANA).
  • Testing: Experience with SAP testing tools, frameworks, or best practices (e.g., CBTA, Tricentis Tosca, HP ALM).
  • Portfolio Tools: Experience with project portfolio management tools (e.g., Planview, Clarity, Smartsheet, Jira/Advanced Roadmaps).
  • Release & CAB: Familiarity with release management and Change Advisory Board processes.
  • Certifications:CAPMPRINCE2 Foundation/PractitionerPMP, or SAP Activate (preferred, not required).
