What you’ll do

  • As Key Account Manager you will be managing individual accounts with strategic importance to AstraZeneca, taking ultimate responsibility for their performance.
  • KAM is responsible for generating clinical demand for the promoted brand with key accounts, proactively identifying business opportunities, presenting value propositions aligned to stakeholder needs and objectives, and recommending solutions to drive and develop business.
  • The long-term goal is to develop strategic and mutually beneficial relationships within the accounts and potentially other stakeholders, based on a deep scientific understanding of the issues, to identify the best opportunities for the promoted brand and to deliver life-changing medicine to patients.

Essential for the role

  • University education preferably in Medicine, Pharmacy, Dentistry, or Veterinary Medicine
  • Experience as a pharmaceutical sales representative, including a proven track record of successfully managing key accounts.
  • Proven track record of engaging and developing lasting relationships with a broad base of key stakeholders in complex clinical environments, e.g., mid, and senior-level healthcare professionals, key accounts, and the medical community.
  • Proven track record of strategic thinking, judgment, and persuasion/negotiation skills
  • Proven track record of developing and successfully executing compelling account strategies.
  • Strong leadership attributes to set direction, generate commitment, balance short and long-term needs, constructively resolve issues, and proven demonstration of effective cross-functional team leadership.

Desirable for the role

  • Knowledge of the market and customers over a wide territory/at national level
  • Experience in key account management
  • Marketing knowledge
  • Familiarity with CRM systems
