The Regional Lean Lead for the Americas provides Lean expertise and coaching to enable the Regional Leadership team to drive performance improvements through the adoption of Lean. The role holder is a Lean expert of broad experience in transformation across organizations and multiple functions. This role translates Lean knowledge and experience into business opportunities that add value and reduce waste.

What you will do:

  • Coach leadership teams to develop strategic and annual Lean plans that deliver required uplift in Lean maturity and business value.
  • Guide leadership teams to develop effective scorecard and PDCA review process to drive execution. Jointly accountable for benefit delivery.
  • Represent area as member of the Global Lean Governance Network (GLGN), working alongside Lean CoE to develop and steer AZ Lean strategy to deliver corporate goals.
  • Provide necessary coaching and deliver/arrange Lean training as required to ensure colleagues build and maintain the required levels of Lean competence.
  • Own Lean strategic workforce plan ensuring that the necessary capacity, capability and succession planning is in place for deployed Regional Lean resources.
  • Executive Process Owner (EPO) for one or more AZSS processes responsible for the strategic direction and development to ensure the process(es) continue(s) to support business requirements and aligns to external best practice.
  • Manage  Lean Maturity Review (LMR) peer and self-assessment to support Lean direction and prioritization.
  • Exploit Internal and external benchmarking to inform quality of Lean plans.
  • Accountable for the development/delivery of specific projects to improve the Lean system to support delivery of business goals


  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Science, Engineering, Business, Supply Chain, or related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years as a Manufacturing/Production leader working with leading edge Lean practices.
  • Excellent track record of developing, adapting and implementing value added Lean strategies and programs aligned with the supply and commercial needs and priorities of the business
  • Strong track record in change management gained in a global and highly competitive business environment.
  • Influencing the matrixed global organization and a proven ability to lead and coach both senior leaders and direct/indirect reports.
  • Broad understanding of supply chain processes.
  • In depth knowledge of Lean best practice from the external world and other related industries


  • Six Sigma Black Belt training and/or certification from an accredited external Quality program.
  • Understanding of Good Automated Manufacturing Practice, current Good Manufacturing Practice and GxP regulations as defined by local regulatory bodies.
