As Global Marketing Associate Director, Renal Anemia, role based in Wilmington, DE, you’ll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. This role sits within Global Product and Portfolio Strategy as a part of the broader BioPharmaceutical Commercial group, which helps bridge science and commercial, integrating corporate, portfolio, therapy areas and product strategies, providing strategic direction from early-stage research through to commercialization.

This individual will contribute to the development of the launch strategy and execution plan to ensure a successful launch. The role is a key member of the BioPharmaceutical Commercial team that will collaborate closely with colleagues in the Cross-functional team, Local markets and FibroGen (biotech development partner.  This role will help inform, shape the strategy, launch focus and operational plan. The Global Marketing Associate Director will report to the Global Product Head, Renal Anemia.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • Support the development of launch strategy and execution plan for dialysis segment and non-dialysis segments
  • Accountable for successful roll-out of product strategy plan
  • Lead the development of the brand promotional activity plan
  • Engage directly with key regions and markets to ensure preparation for launch and flawless launch
  • Contribute as an active member of the global commercial team

Required/Essential Requirements

  • Education
    • Bachelor degree or equivalent
  • Knowledge
    • Thorough understanding of the development process and necessary commercial touch points
    • Understanding of general business and core marketing principles and application to future healthcare market challenges
  • Experience
    • Specialty commercial experience
    • Broad commercial experience including pre-launch and launch
    • Strong strategic thinking, judgement and influencing skills, to influence R&D to ensure strong commercial focus
    • Strong leadership attributes to set direction, generate commitment, balance short and long-term needs, constructively resolve issues
    • Proven experience and knowledge of a broad base of external customers including patients, prescribers, payers, providers and in/out license partners.
    • Evidence of developing compelling business cases
    • Working with R&D
  • Technical
    • Sufficient understanding of technical risks and the implications for the commercial aspects to future brands
    • Strong understanding of key marketing skill sets

Desirable Requirements

  • Education
    • MBA preferred
  • Knowledge
    • Specialty medicines with complex ecosystems (patients, healthcare providers, systems, payer)
  • Experience
    • Specialty commercial experience: Chronic Kidney Disease, Nephrology, Anemia, Hematology
    • Experience of working in specialty brands within AZ, external to AZ and experience in Cardiovascular, Metabolic, or Chronic Kidney Diseases
    • Brand Marketing experience for new products and new indications
    • Consistent track record of success considering pre-launch and launch
  • Technical
    • Device technology and platforms
