Reward Insights Partner - 12 months secondment/fix term contract

We are looking for a client-oriented reward professional to join our global reward team.  Critical requirements include a passion for total reward, excellent analytical capability, an eye for detail, a curiosity for knowledge, the ability to translate technical analysis into useful, business focussed insights as well as strong consulting and communication skills.

As a member of the broader Reward & Inclusion (R&I) community, you will be a senior member of our analytics team utilising a suite of core enabling HR technologies (MarketPay, Workday, ServiceNow, MicroStrategy etc.) to execute a range of reward activities, working closely with the global reward team, business, hub, country and geographically aligned reward partners.  With the team, you will continuously identify and implement process and technology improvements to simplify our way of working across HR and our business solutions to deliver rewarding experiences that inspire growth.  You will also, through all inter-related activities, enable our Reward Partners to understand whether our Total Reward offering is equitable and whether decisions are consistently made without bias (for example by gender, age, ethnicity).

Focus & Challenge:

  • As part of the Insight leadership team, continuously grows the contribution across the team and of each individual, to push the boundaries of the insights and the value the team contributes to the business

  • Lead the delivery of knowledge-sharing within the team and broader R&I CoE on core annual cycle processes, total reward global principles, practices and processes

  • Rooted in a deep understanding of the inter-connectivity all total reward annual activities and the employee experience, provides holistic insights to Reward Partners on the development and implementation of AZ’s global total reward strategy on a multi-country basis

  • Continuously build a strong understanding of industry dynamics by leveraging relationships with our vendors - Mercer, WTW and Aon (e.g. on job market trends, legislative requirements).  Influences approach to survey data through these relationships

  • Proactively plans the delivery of consistent global tools and approaches across all teams and markets, ensuring any total reward changes in the relevant country/SET area  are aligned with global must win priorities, challenging bespoke requests as appropriate

  • Continually evolves understanding of the external environment, including changes in legal, regulatory and market best practice approaches

  • Consults with Reward Partners to bring business and geographic insight into the continuous improvement of all reward deliverables, as well as to identify ways to understand whether our Total Reward is equitable and decisions are made consistently without bias (for example by gender, age, ethnicity)

Delivery:

  • Leads delivery of globally consistent, high quality core annual reward cycle processes (for example survey participation, the base pay budgeting review and Rewarding Performance Development (RPD))

  • Leads projects to align all countries with total reward global standards, practices and approaches

  • Ensure the provision of high quality underlying data for all markets aligned to the global approach

  • Lead the implementation of any new reward tools, including interactive dashboards, ensuring roll out to all relevant countries is consistent with a continuous improvement mindset

  • Provide expert advice and share market leading reward insights within the Reward CoE. Pro-actively identify issues (e.g. in retention or recruitment) to explain underlying trends and issues

Innovation:

  • Continuously develop global reporting on all reward activities with relevant partners, with consideration for all up and downstream impacts

  • Manage and develop global compensation IT tools, identifying future opportunities for simplification through MarketPay, MicroStrategy, Workday and other IT solutions with the user at the heart of recommendations

Candidate Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

  • Data Handling / Analysis:

    • Demonstrates attention to detail and focus on data accuracy, highly competent in handling complex data sets and identifying key trends and insights to challenge business decision making

    • Through creative thinking, can triangulate multiple sources of data to solve business issues

  • Total Reward Knowledge & Experience

    • Has deep understanding of annual reward cycles, the key inter-dependencies and opportunities for insights

    • Brings up to date knowledge of external total reward and performance practices (local, regional, global) to the analysis of internal data, to challenge the AZ approach while acting as an expert resource providing advice and guidance

    • Understands legal and consultative frameworks across countries and the impact upon development of reward practices

    • Has experience of reward provision, monitoring the cost and financial impact of provision and competitiveness of package

    • Has been responsible for managing and maintaining reward policies, ensuring adherence with global policy, regulatory, legal and best practice approaches in markets

    • Experienced in managing budgets across all reward programmes

    • Recognised as an expert by the business in all matters relating to the reward offering, advising reward partners and HR teams on all issues

Other Experiences & Qualifications (Mandatory)

  • Degree educated or equivalent

  • Able to communicate fluently in English, comfortable leading group discussions in English

  • Able to manage competing tasks efficiently and prioritise workload within a matrixed team environment across a team

  • Analytical capability demonstrated through prior work as an expert user of excel (or other equivalent tools) and database management

  • Expert knowledge of total reward policies, process, procedures with experience in writing policies and implementation

  • Experienced in all areas of salary surveys (submitting data, extracting and analysing data, supplier management) and understands and has used a range of job evaluation methodologies

  • Project management – training for Prince2 or equivalent qualification

  • Is part of established networks within relevant reward communities

  • Demonstrates ability and experience of presenting and influencing a range of stakeholders

  • Competent in a full range of mathematical calculations/activities relevant to the area of work

  • Experience in Microsoft applications

Desirable:

  • Master’s degree in related field desirable

  • Additional language skills desired but not required – German, Spanish, French and Italian

  • Experience in working effectively in a global team
