Develop and execute external communication plans that positively enhances AstraZeneca's corporate reputation, supports business growth, and influences the public opinion to form public agenda that AZ aspires to realize.   Act as an expert resource on external communications for AZ Japan. Takes care pf corporate topics as well as one or more product category.

■ Typical Accountabilitie

•Builds strategies, manages plan and execution, measurement for communications programs critical to raising public corporate reputation and further therapy adoption.
•Contributes to corporate / brand strategy development as appropriate
•Participates in the development of Public Relations plans that support the objectives of the Japan and GCA scorecard.
•Executes programs and projects to assure that deadlines are met, that deliverables are as agreed, that budgets are adhered to, and that outcomes meet the established program and project objectives
•Plans, drafts, writes, edits communications intended for external audiences including press releases, Q&A’s, reserve press statements, fact sheets, and sales communications to address or respond to corporate issues
•Participates in necessary corporate PR opportunity’s strategic and work meetings, and provides strategic counsel as appropriate
•Works with Corporate communications, product area communication managers and specialists, GA team and PAG team to determine comprehensive communication programs.
•Gains internal approval, as appropriate, and, when needed, enlists the support of Director, Brand Communications to negotiate with reviewers to ensure delivery of effective and appropriate communications materials
•Coordinates distribution of external communications through existing systems, as appropriate
•Participates in Corporate Affairs cross-functional initiatives
•Manages communications budget of the overseeing area.

■Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

< Essential >

•    Experience working effectively with and managing Public Relations agencies and other strategic and creative vendors
•    Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, or a related field
•    Solid external, corporate communications and issue handling experience.
•    Media relations networking skills and training
•    Budget management experience
•    8+ years work experience in a communication team at a multinational company or international division of a domestic company.    
•    Collaborative and inclusive working style with all levels within an organization.
•    Flexible mindset with agility
•    Manages multiple projects/internal clients and effectively coordinates with other team members.
•    Fluent Japanese (native level), Business level English in verbal and writing

< Desirable >

•    Knowledge of industry, professional and patient associations
•    Public relations background, or journalism experience 
•    Healthcare industry experience
