Our AstraZeneca Nordic Marketing Company employs around 400 people and has offices located in Stockholm, Copenhagen, Oslo, and Espoo. AstraZeneca has one of the biopharmaceutical industry’s most exciting and rapidly growing Oncology portfolios, spanning both small molecule and biologics research and development. We are developing a comprehensive Oncology portfolio with an emphasis in 4 key platforms: DNA damage repair, Immunotherapy, Tumour Drivers & Resistance and Antibody Drug Conjugates, in 4 core disease areas: Breast, Ovarian, Lung and Hematology.

Several of these drug candidates are targeted therapies that provide benefit to patients with a particular biomarker or genetic mutation, creating the need for concurrent development of companion diagnostics in order to identify patients in a timely manner that can benefit from these therapies.

We are currently looking for a new Nordic Diagnostic Manager to lead and continue to build our high performing and experienced team of Diagnostic Liasons dedicated to paving the way within diagnostics and precision medicine across the Nordic countries.

The role

  • While reporting to the Head of Oncology and part of the Oncology Leadership Team, the Diagnostics Manager contributes to the overall Nordic Oncology strategy and our internal and external priorities.
  • The Diagnostics Manager ensures the timely creation and implementation of Nordic cross-functional strategic and operational plans for diagnostic / testing solutions, enabling optimal treatment throughout the patient journey.
  • An important element of the Diagnostic Manager’s role is to develop strategic and long-term partnerships with relevant Oncology stakeholders and decision makers based on a deep scientific understanding of diagnostic tests and the clinical operational issues on the testing pathway, enabling tailored testing solutions to be developed.
  • Together with the Diagnostics team, this role ensures the creation and availability of tailored materials / means / tools to address identified needs and to establish / facilitate customer interactions

In order to succeed in this role, you will

  • Be passionate about building and developing a high-performing team of specialists.
  • Develop, evaluate and deliver the overall diagnostic strategy for all relevant (in-market and launch -24) therapeutic assets
  • Deliver in-market testing excellence for designated geographies for relevant compounds up to and through launch, including market readiness evaluation and go/no go
  • Remove or minimize diagnostics barriers to therapy use by optimizing testing pathways
  • Engage with, lead and partner with all members of the cross functional team on all diagnostic related activities to ensure launch readiness and optimal launch of therapy
  • Identify and collaborate with National Diagnostic opinion leaders, whilst maintaining appropriate contact with clinical opinion leaders where necessary to identify, design and execute activities to optimise the provision of diagnostics associated with the responsible brands
  • Develop and implement national customer facing activities for pre & post launch to support delivery of the optimal diagnostic environment for therapy, including;
    - Delivering diagnostic related educational initiatives including meetings, exhibitions, congresses/symposia, digital activities 
    - Creating relevant materials / tools to facilitate customer interactions
    - Selecting and qualifying diagnostic partners and testing labs
    - Removing barriers to testing through partnerships with diagnostic companies, lab network and KOLs
    - Delivering testing pathway robustness in all key national clinical centres including local protocol support and multidisciplinary team working
    - Driving delivery from diagnostic partner(s) and testing labs  
    - Developing diagnostic expertise in other cross functional teams i.e. medical, sales, payer evidence
    - Providing key inputs to P&MA strategy build and implementation, including pricing and reimbursement cases for therapy and associated diagnostic tests
    - Using diagnostics related evidence for medical education activity (medical evidence, real-world evidence and epidemiology) and assessment of evidence gaps for either global or local plans to bridge
  • Through proactiveness, regular market prescence and close collaboration, ensure cross functional team capabilities and expertise to secure successful execution of the diagnostics strategy
  • Generation of diagnostic related insight to shape national brand strategy and tactics
  • As required, supports registration/regulatory approval of diagnostic tests within their country
  • Responsible for monitoring & proposing improvement plans for diagnostic related brand performance
  • As required, develop and implement other national customer facing activities (pre & post launch)
  • Represent AstraZeneca Nordic in global and other above-market diagnostics related initiatives and forums
