The difference starts with you! In this role you will work closely with colleagues in Norway and across the Nordics to execute the Medical Affairs Oncology strategy.

Your opportunity in our journey

As field-based Medical Advisor, you will play a pivotal role in supporting the strategy and clinical development of our oncology products, contribute to international and regional studies and be responsible for medical/scientific activities for AstraZeneca’s marketed products and compounds in development. In this role you will translate scientific knowledge and insights into strategies that drive decision making and support business success.

A core element of this role is to develop professional relationships and collaborate with Health Care Professional (HCPs) and decision makers. You will provide scientific information and expertise in assigned product and/or disease area and conduct presentations in a non-promotional context, engage in scientific collaborations, lead projects and activities, and support clinical studies and potential HCP initiated clinical research. 

You will be a core partner for internal cross-functional teams as scientific specialist in breast cancer, both at local and Nordic level. You provide medical expertise to product strategies and activities. 

Reporting to the Therapeutic Area Lead Breast Cancer, you will join a growing medical team in Oncology Medical Affairs.

What you will do

  • Collaborate with HCPs and other stakeholders to ensure appropriate use of established and future AZ products.

  • Facilitate medical/scientific exchange activities to increase comprehension of clinical data.

  • Contribute in developing study concepts, identify new opportunities and evidence gaps, and work closely with investigators to generate data to inform clinical practice.

  • Support scientific programs that explore unmet medical needs and patient support.

  • Work cross-functionally to provide medical insight on product strategies, cross-functional plans and key deliverables including reimbursement dossiers and regulatory documents.

  • Assure quality and outputs are in accordance with written procedures and current legal requirements and internal standards

What we are looking for

  • A Medical Affairs professional who holds an advanced scientific degree and/or master´s degree or MD in Life Sciences or a related subject area. Expertise in oncology and MD and/or PhD with clinical experience and/or a few years’ experience from a medical affairs role is preferred.

  • Proven expertise in understanding, assimilating, and communicating scientific content

  • Entrepreneurial and collaborative approach to engaging with external stakeholders as well as cross-functional colleagues.

  • Business-oriented thinking, without compromising the scientific elements of the job.

  • Ability to travel, driver’s license and Norwegian as well as English language skills required

You have experience from working in cross-functional teams, a patient focused approach and integrity in customer interactions.  Good planning, communication and organizational skills and an ability to achieve results without compromising quality is required.

Your proven ability to understand, assimilate and communicate scientific information and context to a variety of audiences is essential for the role as is an understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, health care system and payer structures.
