■Job Description

Director of Data Science is a Scientific leadership position of EOR in Medical and heading EOR Data Science Group, who has the ownership and accountability to ensure the scientific / methodological rigors of Medical scientific studies & Evidence Generation activities. He/She is responsible to ensure that Data Science Group will provide the data science expertise including the roles of Data Scientist, Statistician, HTA expert and Data Engineer, to deliver the impactful evidence with high quality. Data Science Group will also play the key role in Digital Transformation by promoting RWD use, innovative analytics, Data standardization and internal/external collaborations.

Key Accountabilities
・ Develop Data Science powerhouse with remarkable Data Science capabilities and capacity
・ Ensure the Strategic Real World Data(RWD)utilization by partnering with the Procurement, CoMeX, R&D, MKT and global leaders
・Manage/develop Japan AWS analytic platform/data warehouse (Japan data hub) so that it is optimized with innovative /evolving technologies, valid architecture and efficient operating model to enable the Evidence Generation with speed and high quality
・ Ensure the scientific/methodological rigors of entire AZ Medical Studies, establish data analytical standards, and generateimpactful RWE successfully
・Promote the utilization of all available data assets via JDH across functions together with the capability development and the implementation of new technologies
・Engage with key internal/external research partners and leaders, including academics, public-private partnerships and other key initiatives to push boundaries of technologies and capabilities for Evidence Generation
・Hold the shared-responsibility in developing Medical division strategy and capabilities

■Qualification (Experience & Skill etc.)

【Experience】

<Mandatory>

• 10+ years’ experience of Clinical Research and Clinical Trials with the professional expertise in leading study design, data management,analyses and scientific publications
• Knowledge and experience working with Real World Data, including an understanding of Clinical/Health Data, Data Engineering, Analytical methods, and system architecture
• Track record of Line management and/or project leadership in a matrix environment
• Communicate with regulatory/external stake folders and get endorsement

<Nice to have>

• Strong track record of delivering impactful, cross functional projects with multi-disciplinary team/experts
• Experience in delivering pharmacoepidemiology studies with proven track record of advancing approaches with data science
• Working experience in global organization / teams

【License】

<Mandatory>

• Ph.D in Public Health or Statistics or equivalent educational certifications

<Nice to have>

• MD, or educational certification in HEOR, Data Engineering or other relevant expertise
