First of all, this role requires strong creativity and courage to challenge societal issues no clear answer given yet.  AZ set clear goal - carbon zero by 2025 and nevative by 2030, but every governments around the world are still seeking the way to achieve net zero without sacrificing economic growth, for example.
High skill of collaboration internally and externally to find the solutions and decisive skills to slect rithg partners are keys too.  Quick learning and agility is reruied in rapid changing environment.

In Japan, we established Sustainability function in March 2020.  We are only market to have such a fuction.  “Sustainability become every day for everyone” is  one of our strategic imperative for AZ Japan to reach by 2025.
The world faces significant Sustainability challenges now.  Especially, meet 1.5 target in climate change is urgent and critical issues for our descendants.  AZ Japan’s leadership in driving Sustainability agenda will inspire and engage our employees, future employees and stakeholders including the government and suppliers to accelerate actions for a better world.

■ 職務範囲 / Duties and Responsibilities

We would like to lead sustainability in Japan society and AZ global.  Expectation to this role is driving Japan sustainability in mainly two area. – 1. Amitiob Zero Carbon, 2. Employees engagement

1.    Ambition Zero Carbon (AZC) - Carbon Zero from our operation by 2025, Carbon negative in AZ total value chain by 2030
•    Collaborate with cross function team in AZ Japan and AZ global to achieve AZC AZ Japan  Internal stakeholders -  Directors/Mangers of PR, Int Com, HR, OPS, Government affairs, General Affairs, etc
•    Lead consolidation of GHG (Greenhouse gas emission) emission data of AZ Japan educating the latest rule to cross functional team and create roadmap to achieve AZC
•    Deploy plans/activities to accelerate Net Zero collaborating with external stakeholders in Japan society.
Plans/activities involve interaction/collaboration with government, industry associations, suppliers and NPOs - Government (METI, MOE, MHLW, etc and Local government such as Osaka prefecture), Swedish embassy, JCLP(Japan climate leaders’ partnership, JPMA(Japan Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Associations), HGPI (Health and Global Policy Institute) to maximize our activities and amplify our actions based on our white paper issued in April 2022.  Main agenda are RE100, EV100, Patient centric healthcare system, etc.  Clarify stakeholder mapping to achieve the ambition zero carbon effectively and create strategy to increase engagement in key area in line with well-designed stakeholder mapping.
•    Lead development of story for Japan Management to talk about AZC externally and continuously influence JLT members to talk about sustainability.  Develop plans, propose, and implement stories for managers and employees to talk about AZ Japan sustainability so that everyone in AZ Japan can become ambassador of sustainability.

2.    Employee engagement – Develop strategic plans how to evolve AZ Japan sustainability volunteer program, propose the upgraded program(s), implement and run the program(s) to realize sustainability for everyone, every day at AZ Japan throughout the company.
•    Develop more systematic and strategic ways to run AZ Japan sustainability volunteer program in order to enhance it to the level where every AZ Japan employee to take positive action to make our society healthier.  This program to be cross functional program to develop culture of contribution to society among employees.  Take full leadership on this program and implement this program cross SET in Japan. Communicate the evolved Program not only in Japan but also globally to export Japan best practice in our global community.
•    Deploy Young Health Program with Musubie as a PMO to make sure our action gives very positive impact to young people in Japan and contribute to YHP implementation in global.

Common expectation to both 1 and 2
•    Take role of project manager for “Strategic imperative” to make sure its progress involving cross function/SET team effectively
•    Coach other team members to maximize their performance to achieve our ambitious target together with Sustainability Director
