The Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets, capsules for over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is the largest AZ production site in the US and is in the southwest corner of the state of Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana – the third largest city in the state of Indiana. The Mt. Vernon site is dedicated to creating a culture of inclusion and collaboration. Site Supply Planning within Mount Vernon Operations manages the material flow through the factory, enabling us
packaging and processing areas to produce stock for customer orders. Post manufacture, the department also
manages all product storage and shipment to over 100 countries globally. Divided into several departments, the function plans all aspects of the manufacturing process, liaising closely with our procurement team, inbound and outbound warehouses, line support teams and customer and distributor liaison. It is therefore vital that systems are managed and controlled in an efficient and cost-effective manner.
Brief Job Description
The Facilities Manager is a key role within our Operations team, responsible for supporting the Senior Facilities Manager in the management and oversight of Integrated Facilities Management. This includes, but is not limited to: Equipment Maintenance, Building & Grounds Maintenance, Site Utilities, Housekeeping, GMP Cleaning, Laboratory Services, MRO Storeroom & Mail Services, Pest Control, Space Planning, and Dining Services. The individual will play a key role in supporting Facility Services contracted directly with OSPs and through Integrated Facilities Management (IFM) providers, ensuring contracts and services are fit for purpose, and meet SHE and Customer Service Level Agreements.
Accountabilities:
As a Facilities Manager, you will partner with the Senior Facilities Manager to provide day-to-day oversight and support to IFM/OSPs to ensure a positive, customer-focused work environment and ensure services comply with all AstraZeneca regulatory and Safety, Health & Environmental (SHE) Policies, Standards, and Procedures. You will assist in the technical oversight and management for central site utilities and support systems including electrical, natural gas, water, chilled water, steam, and sewer. You will also introduce innovative ideas, practices, and solutions towards services.
Essential Skills/Experience:
- Bachelors in Chemical, Mechanical, Electrical, or another Relevant field
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Experience with central utilities (boilers, chillers, compressed air, water supply, sewer discharge) and HVAC systems
- Working knowledge of industrial and building trade practices, techniques, codes, and standards
- Experience with infrastructures, including foundations, buildings, roofs, water processing, and plant operations
Desirable Skills/Experience:
- 10 years of relevant experience
- Advanced technical degree or professional certification
- Experience in working in a lean environment
- Strong knowledge of GMP’s
