Operations Lead, OneSource – Patient Support Programs

Summary of Position:
The Operations Lead within OneSource spearheads the operational oversight of Alexion Canada's national network operations for all Patient Support Programs (PSP). This role is pivotal in driving excellence in patient experience services across all Therapeutic Areas (TA). The Operations Lead ensures that all contractual engagements with partner organizations are implemented with full compliance, reinforcing our commitment to ethical standards. Additionally, they will forecast and lead budget implications, as well as oversee purchase orders and invoices, to ensure the financial integrity and sustainability of OneSource programs and services.
What You’ll Do:
- Own and champion continuous improvement and innovation within the strategic operations of the OneSource services. Design and map service processes, identifying and implementing opportunities for innovation and continuous improvement. Ensure that all SOPs are not only aligned with relevant policies and regulations but are also consistently updated.
- Provide expert operational guidance and critical input to internal partners, actively shaping the design of new Patient Support Programs (PSPs) and the expansion of services within existing PSPs.
- Accountable for strategic vendor management, including the development of innovative services, financial negotiations, and the determination of Key Performance Metrics. Complete contracts to ensure the improvement and ongoing success of infusion clinics and all other services nationwide.
- Lead and direct regular Business Reviews with vendors, proactively identifying potential opportunities and risks. Proactive advice to senior leadership on potential risks to various programs and the model, rigorously reviewing vendor performance for deviations, change control, corrective action control, and vendor training programs.
- Proactively identify and cultivate relationships with new vendors as required to expand program capabilities and mitigate risk.
- Collaborate with Drug Safety, Product Quality, HCC, Legal, Compliance, and Finance to advocate for and support a patient-centric approach, ensuring all activities align with applicable laws, regulations, and policies related to patient support.
- Take swift and decisive action in response to critical operational emergencies and risks to maintain continuity of program services, including handling product recalls, patient safety protocols, clinic closures, and other emergent situations.
- Oversee and handle the network operations budget with precision, including patient volume and budget forecasting to ensure financial stability and operational efficiency.
What We’re Looking For:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree is required; MBA or Advanced Degree in related field (business management, sciences) is preferred.
Industry Experience and Knowledge:
- 8+ years of proven experience in the healthcare/pharmaceutical industry.
- Bachelor's Degree is required; MBA or Advanced Degree in related field (business management, sciences) is preferred.
- Consistent track record in leading and implementing large programs, ideally within the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry. Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements related to patient support.
- Experienced in or a strong orientation towards process excellence, critical and innovative thinking with strong business sense. Lean Six Sigma Black Belt certification and experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated learning agility and ability to work under pressure in a dynamic environment.
Leadership and Collaboration:
- Strong organizational skills with the ability to run multiple projects simultaneously. Proficiency in project management to ensure timely and efficient program execution.
- Shown success in negotiating with large agencies and/or vendors.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Strong analytical skills to assess program performance and make data-driven decisions.
- Proactive problem-solving skills to address any issues that may arise during program implementation.
Skills and Abilities:
- Demonstrated excellence in analytical thinking and financial acumen.
- Shown leadership of cross-functional teams and C-Suite engagement internally and externally.
- Exceptional cross-functional collaboration skills; a strong teammate who collaborates well with internal/external partners and stakeholders.
- Self-motivated with the ability to lead and handle multiple priorities and partners effectively.
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to travel, as there will be 10% domestic travel required.
