Accountabilities

As a Global Scientific Director, you will be responsible for:

  • Developing therapeutic area training curricula, including disease state, patient journey, and therapeutic landscape.

  • Innovating learning experiences using adult learning principles and novel training solutions.

  • Leading content development with external providers and guiding the use of authoring tools.

  • Communicating effectively with global and local collaborators to ensure awareness of educational content.

  • Providing strategic leadership and engaging in the development of scientific training initiatives.

  • Localizing training content and supporting product launches.

  • Managing knowledge/content strategies for onboarding and updating training assets.

  • Enhancing learner experience within the LMS for optimal training delivery.

  • Establishing collaborative partnerships with key stakeholders to integrate insights into training content.

  • Managing the training budget and aligning resources with strategic initiatives.

  • Mentoring team members to promote professional growth.

  • Leading the exploration of new educational technologies to enhance training effectiveness.

  • Overseeing program evaluation and metrics for continuous improvement.

Essential Skills/Experience

  • Education: Advanced degree in a scientific discipline, health sciences (Master’s or higher), or a Bachelor’s Degree with clinical experience.

  • Minimum of 5 years in the pharmaceutical industry.

  • Prior experience in Medical Affairs, with a focus on field medical roles.

  • Demonstrable experience in capability training or similar fields.

  • Proven track record in project management.

  • Experience with budget management.

  • Familiarity with matrix organizational structures and cross-departmental collaboration.

  • Strategic thinking and long-term planning abilities.

  • Competence in setting/managing priorities, resources, and performance targets in a global/regional context.

  • Practical knowledge of clinician-facing Medical Affairs functions.

  • Clear understanding of Medical Affairs compliance requirements.

  • Experience in designing and delivering Medical Affairs training programs.

  • Proficiency in instructional design systems.

  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, and conflict management skills.

  • Ability to effectively collaborate with various roles across Medical departments.

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • Experience working with global teams in a multicultural and diverse environment.

  • Digital innovation or development of new services/programs.

  • Delivering live training events.

  • Experience in high-level change management and organizational development.

  • Advanced digital literacy and comfort with new technology adoption.

  • Proficiency in e-authoring tools, multi-media editing, and graphic design principles to elevate overall learner experience.
