CAPEX Procurement Manager

Summary of the group:

Biopharmaceutical Development’s (BPD) Business Planning and Operations team leads the development and implementation of BPD’s functional strategy and operational business planning and support. Major areas of responsibility include supporting the creation of long-term technical objectives, development of annual budgets, functional resource management, contract management, and ensuring cross functional leadership bodies and business processes are effective.

Main Duties & Responsibilities:

CAPEX Procurement:

Collaborate with BPD Functions across global campuses and support all aspects Capital Expenditure (CAPEX) process

  • Tracks CAPEX requests for BPD functions and helps navigate through the process
  • Owns and performs CAPEX business process in collaboration with the BPD CAPEX Committee
  • Facilitates CAPEX committee meetings to ensure effective and efficient review and approval of the CAPEX requests
  • Closely collaborates with the chair(s) and members of the BPD CAPEX committee to review, prioritize, and track the CAPEX
  • Keeps track of CAPEX requests, approvals, prioritization, annual CAPEX budget and expenditure by cost centers
  • Generates routine reports summarizing status of CAPEX projects budget and expenditure
  • Provides support and guidance for CAPEX procurement process while ensuring compliance with organizational procedures are followed
  • Develops and deploys tools and processes to improve the CAPEX management and tracking
  • Provides guidance to more junior staff providing support for BPD CAPEX business processes
  • Ensure receipt of all equipment by the end of the year.
  • Reconciliation from SAP and Coupa to Capital Management System (CMS).
  • Perform vendor setups in AZ systems, routine Sox compliance reviews, and asset implementation.

Other BPO Support:

Acts as an expert and provides support across BPD for/to:

  • Scientists and cost center owners with day-to-day business operation needs
    • Educate scientists on contract-to-pay processes and their roles and responsibilities 
    • Conduct P2P training and support for purchase requisition creation, receipting, invoice reconciliation, non-PO invoice processing, generation of supplier e-forms, user profile creation and updates in key internal systems 
  • iBuy, COUPA, AZ procurement systems, and other sourcing platforms such as Scientist.com, SHI, VWR
  • Support other projects and initiaitives within BPO as assigned

Education & Experience Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in relevant discipline
  • Experience in procurement and/or contracts management
  • Previous experience of working in the Pharmaceutical and/or Health Care industry
  • Experience with systems such as iBuy and Coupa
  • SAP and Sox Compliance

Required Skills:

  • Experience as a professional procurement manager
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills as proven by the ability to work effectively with others at all levels of the organization and externally with suppliers
  • Strong influencing and negotiation skills
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Tools including POWERBI

Desired Skills:

  • Experience with the Salesforce.com platform and use of MS SharePoint
  • Familiarity with sourcing marketplaces such as Scientist.com, SHI, VWR, etc
  • Experience with internal AZ systems AZ Procurement Platform and Echo
  • Experience in use of analytics platforms such as Spotfire, Tableau, Power BI
