The Business Performance Director will play a pivotal role to shape, manage and track the performance of the whole MC&I function in service of content strategy to achieve the broader Medical Excellence Precision Engagement and AstraZeneca Oncology vision. This position will also be responsible for leading MC&I communications to effectively showcase the value of partnering with the team across AstraZeneca.

They will play a critical role in optimizing the performance of the team by:

  • Developing appropriate success measures and ensure the ongoing tracking of these metrics within the team to enable real-time visibility into performance and insight-driven strategies for Content Excellence and Digital Acceleration deliverables.
  • Evaluating & Optimizing performance in working very collaboratively with the content excellence and digital acceleration team to revisit the strategic and tactical plans.

This role will report directly to the MI Intelligence & Planning Snr. Director and has no line management responsibilities. 

Typical Accountabilities

Business Performance – Insights & Analytics Tracking and Reporting:

  • Formulate and implement an analytics strategy aligned with business objectives, leveraging advanced analytics techniques and tools to extract actionable insights from data in the context of the MC&I transformation journey.
  • Evolve current metrics tracking & reporting into optimised analytics plan to enable real-time visibility into insight reports, continuously informing MC&I performance and Content Excellence and Digital Acceleration planning.
  • Integrate Enterprise Metrics resources, plans and platforms (OBU and BPM) ​and ensure the optimized analytics plan is aligned with Medical Excellence  analytical plans and planning.
  • Generate and present concise, visually impactful reports to convey key insights to leadership, informing strategy for MC&I deliverables, programs, and overall team strategy on a monthly/quarterly basis.

Transformation & Communication Strategy:

  • Develop and manage a comprehensive long-term roadmap for the MC&I Transformation, clearly outlining the activities, timelines, stakeholders, and measurable outcomes to accelerate the performance, aligned with the overall MC&I and Medex vision.
  • Ensure effective communication about metrics and milestones to support coordination across the three pillars within MC&I
  • Create and execute communications plan to effectively demonstrates the value of MC&I Transformation across AstraZeneca

Requirements:

  • Quantitative bachelor’s or master’s degree in a relevant subject, such as Business, Maths, Engineering, Life Sciences.
  • Analytic & Strategic mindset with demonstrated experience (10 years +) in large pharmaceutical and/or Life science industries.
  • Ability to influence, negotiate and drive change across an organisation.
  • Strong communication skills with demonstrated ability to develop and effectively present complex data clearly and effectively at all levels.
  • Proved experience in establishing and maintaining automated KPI tracking dashboards.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PPT), Power BI and/or other data visualisation platforms
  • Expertise in managing and analysing large databases.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to work collaboratively and cross-functionally with a significant number of stakeholders and business leaders.
  • Excellent planning, management, and coordination skills, with the ability to organize a workload comprised of varying and changing tasks and responsibilities.
