About the Apprenticeship Programme

AstraZeneca is currently on an exciting digital journey to enter the next phase of the digital world and becoming a Smart Factory. On this journey we are now looking for key talent to help realise our vision and lead along the way.

UK Operations is the second largest manufacturing site in the AstraZeneca network and here we thrive in a high-tech and LEAN-based environment where we value collaboration and smart solutions that support our business needs. As a site we rely heavily on Manufacturing Execution Systems to support our manufacturing processes, these systems are critical in ensuring patient supply.  As a Digital Lighthouse site we launch new technologies in collaboration with IT to support our key process areas as we move towards our Factory of the future vision.

We need great people who share our passion for technology, are driven, determined and hard-working. In return, we will support your formal and ‘on the job’ development, making the most of your skills and passion to help you in reaching your ultimate career aspirations.

Our apprenticeship programme is designed to give you a broad understanding of our UK Operation functions, being involved in a variety of critical Operational IT activities and projects, interacting predominantly with the Manufacturing areas and Production teams, but also with other key functional areas such as Quality, LEAN, UK Ops Data Team, and AZIT.

During this 2.5 year programme, you will have the opportunity to complete several rotations in different areas to provide you with exposure and experience aligned to your apprenticeship.

Throughout your apprenticeship with us you will have the opportunity to carry out some of the following roles/responsibilities:

Manufacturing Systems Technical Support

So, in one rotation, you could be a Technical Support Analyst, providing first fix technical advice in person or using remote desktop tools to provide issue analysis, diagnosis and resolution.
