Associate Director, Clinical Supply IRT Team


Join us in the Operations department at AstraZeneca, where we are breaking new ground and leaving a collective legacy. The Pharmaceutical Technology & Development (PT&D) organization is responsible for drug product design, development and technical support for drug substance and products throughout the lifecycle. The Therapeutic Area functions within Clinical Manufacturing & Supply (CM&S) and PT&D are accountable for the supply of medicines to AstraZeneca’s clinical trials. Clinical Supply Chains are amongst the most complex of any industry and our customers are increasingly demanding more speed and agility, as well as management of complex device supply chains and new modalities, without compromising quality or risk. We need well-managed, fit-for-purpose systems, processes and solutions to meet these challenges.


As the Associate Director, you will work as a part of a global leadership team and is responsible for leading, developing, and managing the team of IRT Leads & Specialists. You will ensure Quality/SHE/GMP standards are upheld, engage in stakeholder management activities in functional area, lead engaging and inclusive team interactions, implement a clear Training Framework and ensure compliance to framework. You will also engage in workload planning activities for the team, manage demand with team capacity and take actions to ensure the team are sized and equipped to meet the demand.

Essential Skills/Experience:
- Degree or equivalent professional qualification 
- Proven ability to motivate, develop and empower others to accomplish outstanding individual, project and organisational goals.
- Knowledge of working with IRT / RTSM
- Leadership experience in a supply chain or clinical operations environment
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Evidence of leading in a matrix environment with exceptional stakeholder management
- Ability to partner across diverse business areas

Desirable Skills/Experience:
- Demonstrated good time and stakeholder management skills & flexibility to adapt to changing customer need / environment 
- An understanding of the Quality Management System in a Pharmaceutical Environment, including computer systems validation. 
- Detailed knowledge of Clinical Supply Chain and drug development processes
- Demonstrated Lean Leadership Capability
- Proven analytical and strategic thinking
