Senior Manager, Oncology Market Access Strategy

Reporting to the Director, Oncology Market Access Strategy (Breast), the Senior Manager will collaborate with a wide range of AstraZeneca and alliance partner organization’s cross functional teams to assist with the overall development and implementation of access strategies to support the franchise. More specifically, this role will support development and delivery of the product value proposition for patients, providers, and payers to facilitate access and reimbursement. The successful candidate will lead and work cross-functionally to craft, implement and measure access strategy activities. This candidate will also work closely with the Marketing, Sales, Market Access, and Insight teams to ensure that marketing activities are coordinated across customers and support overall brand strategic objectives.
This role is based on-site in Gaithersburg, MD (Washington, DC Metro area).
Typical Accountabilities
Develops and implements impactful access strategies, including compelling and differentiated product value propositions, distribution and dispensing, and pricing and affordability.
Assists in the creation and execution of launch access strategy to secure and maintain access, reimbursement, and affordability
Collaborates with cross-functional team to identify rich market insights to build comprehensive market access strategies, associated forecast assumptions, and aligned messaging across segments
Develops the development of the promotional plan, programs, and tactics to pull-through market access strategy (training materials, selling resources/tools, and field sales integration)
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s Degree
Minimum of 2 years experience within the pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical market including payer marketing, brand marketing, market research, account management, and/or field sales
Strong understanding of the US market access landscape and the legal/regulatory environment for pharmaceuticals/biopharmaceuticals
Ability to think strategically and to translate strategy into tactical implementation and complete the strategy
Ability to travel domestically and internationally (up to 20%)
Preferred Qualifications
MBA or other advanced degree in relevant field
Experience developing and implementing strategy
Experience in oncology and/or managed care/payer experience
Experience working in an alliance or commercialization partner
