Job summary

The Program Analyst provides crucial support services which enable scientists to focus on research and development activities that further the R&D pipeline. Specifically, the Program Analyst is responsible for helping to create processes, tracking program performance and identifying & solving problems using data analytics. Additionally, they are responsible for gathering and analyzing complex data to identify trends and develop reports with their experienced recommendations for improvement. Through active oversight of the Consumables Management program and by providing Import/Export process support, the Program Analyst ensures that the site is positioned to proactively manage budget items, add efficiencies to the scientists, and provide the highest level of support to its customers.

Essential Job Duties

  • Able to translate unstructured, sophisticated business problems into a data design and solution
  • Ad hoc wrangling of data (sourcing, extraction, profiling, integration) to support consumables management and Import/Export programs, model generation and business insight
  • Create and implement data management collection techniques
  • Work with consumers / business users on the definition of the data requirements for intended data solutions
  • Proven track record of turning insights gleaned from program analysis into real world solutions at various complexity levels.
  • Experience in translating requirements into fit for purpose data models, data processing designs and data profile reports
  • Profiling of data to understand origin, quality, metadata models, ownership and standards required for compliance

Consumables Management Program

  • Responsible for all reporting-related functions of the inventory management program including but not limited to:
  • Ensuring accurate and timely reporting of key performance metrics
  • Pulling and analyzing reports
  • Tracking cost savings
  • Monitoring & minimizing slow moving and dead inventory
  • Price list monitoring
  • Document control & records maintenance
  • Oversee day to day activities of the consumables management team to ensure program is running efficiently and delivering maximal value to the business
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the Inventory Management System (IMS) and the data needed to ensure focus on appropriate measurable outcomes which drive increased efficiencies and cost savings
  • Monitor workflows and work with contracting firm to ensure site is staffed appropriately to accommodate work volume changes and timelines. Ensure consistent delivery of essential services through cross-training and simplification of processes
  • Ensure that all changes in programs and outcomes are well documented
  • Communicate to leadership on relevant program management details in a timely and accurate manner
  • Demonstrate impeccable customer service by providing problem identification, root cause analysis, expedited resolution and appropriate follow up
  • Contribute to efforts required for periodic bids for service
  • Collaborate closely between Lab Ops, R&D and external partners to coordinate activities and align service delivery with business needs
  • Collect voice of customer data from Research and Development scientists regarding current and potential new services as well as performance against expectations
  • Anticipate changing customer service needs; influence and promote deployment of new service offerings and improvements where appropriate
  • Develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external departments, contractors and suppliers.

Import/Export Compliance

  • Collect US Customs data from multiple sources and prepare reports on transit times, shipping costs, duties paid and other necessary data to assist in driving import program improvement
  • Expand and improve import/export auditing program
  • Assist in the management of customs broker compliance
  • Support recordkeeping processes for import and export in accordance with BIS and CBP regulations
  • Ensure product databases are updated and maintained with current harmonized tariff codes and relevant FDA, USDA and other government agency data
  • Gather data on compliance activities, including performing analyses against applicable regulatory requirements, as well as devising and implementing recommendations accordingly
  • Support investigations of potential violations of import/export control laws and regulations and company policies and procedures

Required Education

  • Associate’s degree in an analytical or scientific field is required
  • Bachelor’s or higher degree would be a plus

Required Experience

  • 3-5 years of relevant data analytics / program management experience a must
  • Previous people management experience a plus
