About the Opportunity

We’re currently looking for hard-working postdoctoral scientists to join our innovative academic-style Postdoc program. From our center in Gaithersburg, MD, USA, you’ll be in a global pharmaceutical environment, leading live projects right from the beginning. It’s a newly growing program spanning a range of therapeutic areas across a wide range of fields. This project strives to develop a toolbox of innovative molecular switches for improved cell therapy safety.

In this role we will make use of your experience in protein engineering and stem cell and/or T cell technologies to advance innovative molecular switch development in cell therapy by crafting and conducting laboratory experiments, developing methodology, and generating and interpreting scientific data in a highly collaborative environment.

You’ll employ multiple technologies involving molecular biology, genome editing, as well as next-gen sequencing in your projects. You will apply in vitro assays to confirm the functions of newly engineered molecules and further develop animal models to validate the results.

Qualification, Skills & Experience

Required:

  • Ph.D. degree in molecular biology, bioengineering or equivalent scientific fields

  • Strong experience in molecular biology, protein engineering and cell biology

  • Experience in viral and/or non-viral vector engineering

  • Molecular biology and protein engineering skills

  • Advanced cell culture of stem cells and/or primary cells

  • In vitro assay development and optimization

  • Knowledge in Multiplex flow cytometry

Desirable:

  • Experience in animal handling, mouse tumor models, standard routes of dosing and engraftment

  • Experience in stem cell culture and differentiation

  • Experience in primary cell culture and expansion

  • Experience in single cell studies
