In this role you will be primarily responsible for data products within the team. To this end, you will work with data engineers, knowledge engineers, information architects, and stakeholders from oncology science units, data operations, governance, and data science to manage data products and enable their consumption. The Oncology Data Science Platform group comprises multiple teams across the Cambridge UK, Boston MA, Gaithersburg MD, Barcelona ES, and Munich DE sites. The accountabilities of the group span pre-clinical and early clinical data strategy, multi-omics, and imaging-based production informatics for Oncology Discovery, Translational Medicine, and Early and Late Clinical portfolio. The ideal candidate:

Major Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Is the main point of contact for Oncology R&D users and stakeholders by collecting and prioritizing requirements and collecting feedback on product increments representing the data product throughout its lifecycle

  • Is the user representative for product development teams and promotes direct feedback from internal and external users to the product teams

  • Negotiates work with the data product engineers to ensure product delivery is targeting the key requirements

  • Works closely with technology & architecture stakeholders to understand the technology and make sure we are building the products the right way

  • Designs, evaluates, and manages delivery roadmaps for the managed products to realize technology and business strategy.

  • Defines success for the managed products, ideally by defining measurable metrics, monitoring, and reporting to management and teams

  • Organizes and reviews usability and User Experience (UX)

  • Documents release notes, reviews, user guide/online help

  • Works with other product owners and team leaders on build-or-buy decisions and integration plans, spanning the entire software stack across Oncology

  • Works with the data operations and governance team to fit data flow and data provisioning schemes into the managed products and to ensure data governance policies are met

  • Works with the semantic data integration team to facilitate knowledge graph integrations, dashboards, and analytics

  • Organizes and conducts training and support

  • Communicates product and product change (upgrades, replacements, phase-outs) to the user base and creates communication material for a broader and executive audience

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Master’s Degree in natural or engineering sciences at a minimum

  • 3+ years of expertise in the usage/the management of software for data analysis/management Expertise in ETL and data pipeline build

  • Stakeholder communication and management

  • Data analysis expertise

  • Knowledge about omics data (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics etc.)

  • Experience implementing FAIR data principles

  • Data modeling experience

  • Experience in requirements engineering following lean and agile methods

  • Experience in scrum

Desirable Qualifications:

  • Ph.D. in natural or engineering sciences

  • Experience using knowledge graphs and knowledge graph standards (RDF, RDFS, SPARQL, OWL, SKOS, DCAT, PROV-O, VOID)

  • Experience with Knowledge Graph Dashboard tools (DisQover, Metaphacts)

  • Knowledge of drug development (processes)

  • Product development experience
