As the FMC Site Controller, you will serve as the Business Partner for the Frederick Manufacturing Center within AstraZeneca and support the management and governance of Capital projects as well as all financial decision support activities for the site.

In this role as Finance Leader you will have a solid understanding of the business and works in a highly matrixed environment to establish practices and influence stakeholders in a collaborative manner. This role reports directly to the Vice President of Site Operations.

  • Develop a solid understanding of the underlying business to include past performance, execution vs. ownership complexities and Capital management practices and governance
  • Drive all required decision support activities as well as accounting, financial planning, reporting and analysis for the site
  • Lead in the effort to develop new practices and governance with budgeted and sanctioned Capital by partnering with Global Engineering and Capital Stakeholders in the AZ Operations Network to establish best practices and strengthen capital performance
  • Initiate and promote common, consistent and measurable methods for evaluating, accounting, and reporting on capital investments
  • Establish and maintain methods for capital prioritization and demand management
  • Provide financial modelling and analysis on investment decisions
  • Oversee, review, analyze and report on monthly financial results
  • Manage the forecasting and long -range planning activities for the site
  • Ensure compliance with all required accounting policies, procedures, standards, controls and processes.
  • Lead special projects as assigned
  • Manage and develop staff
  • Proactively looks for business improvement opportunities and mobilizes needed resources to assess and develop recommendations
  • Expected to "think outside the box" by facilitating creative thinking and innovation
  • Will participate on cross-functional teams which are charted to solve a complex problem
  • Develop solutions to complex problems which require ingenuity and innovation

Minimum Requirements:

  • MBA, MS, or other advanced degree in business, finance, or economics
  • 12-15 years of progressive financial management experience demonstrating exceptional business partnering and influencing skills at the most senior levels.
  • Must have successful experience managing complex global projects with varied stakeholders.
  • Complete understanding of financial reporting tools and requirements, financial forecasting and modelling
  • CPA preferred
