This role will contribute to the success of the Critical Reagents group within Global Technical Operations – Analytical (GTO-A). GTO-A supports the late-stage clinical and commercial biologics product portfolio at AstraZeneca. The Critical Reagents group is accountable for inventory management, procurement, qualification, and distribution of critical reagents to support analytical testing. The position will be responsible for helping to manage the complete lifecycle of critical reagents, including Reference Standards, Assay Controls and Analytical Cell Banks.

What you’ll do:

You will be responsible for conducting or participating in technically fast paced projects within your specific area or field, including the following:

  • Monitor inventory, burn rate and expiry of critical reagents.
  • Support implementation of digital inventory management system and become system SME.
  • Pro-actively manage resupply and requalification activities for critical reagents.
  • Prepare documentation for critical reagents, including memos and Certificates of Analysis.
  • Compile data, as needed, for trending of critical reagents.
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) in daily activities.
  • Own and drive opportunities for Continuous Improvement within the Critical Reagents group.
  • Perform additional tasks and duties as assigned.

Essential for the role:

  • Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in a science discipline. Master’s Degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 4 years of procurement and inventory management experience with a Bachelor’s Degree. 
  • Minimum of 2 years of procurement and inventory management experience with a Master’s Degree. 
  • Experience in biopharmaceutical industry is strongly preferred. 
  • Highly skilled in MS Office Applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams, Project, SharePoint). 
  • Frequent use and application of technical standards, principles, theories, concepts and techniques to independently address a variety of problems of moderate scope.
  • Statistical analysis experience and/or familiarity with JMP software preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills (written and oral).
  • Ability to prioritize effectively and multi-task within an environment of shifting deadlines and demands
