Job Title: Senior Engineer - Collaboration

Join us at AstraZeneca, a world-leading Pharmaceutical company operating in over 100 countries. We are seeking a Senior Engineer for our Workplace Conferencing team. This role requires a deep understanding of technology and the ability to respond to user needs in a timely manner. As a conferencing engineer, you will harmonise with colleagues from various groups and executive levels, providing solutions to their technical needs.

Function/Team – Partnership Services reside in the Infrastructure organization in AZ IT under ETS – Hybrid Operation.

The team is responsible for the following areas of IT:

  • Document storage and Workflow services

  • Microsoft Office 365 (Mail, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Forms, Power Automate etc.)

  • Box.com, Nintex, DocuSign etc.

  • Mail, Calendar and Unified Communication

  • Microsoft Office 365 (Outlook, Teams & Skype For Business etc.)

The Consultant will assist with the design, development, implementation and support of AstraZeneca IT Infrastructure technology. Working under mentorship of more senior employees, the role holder will be involved in analyzing requirements, implementing components of solutions as well as supporting solution improvements and maintenance, which may require a close collaboration with third party suppliers. The Associate IT Infrastructure Engineer will adhere to the established AstraZeneca lifecycle methodology and practices. This may include maintaining program libraries and user documentation of individual components within solutions.

Role and Responsibilities

  • Develops technical expertise and shares knowledge as the need arises with project teams working on the development, implementation, maintenance and improvement of IT Infrastructure Operations solutions

  • Provides support in reviewing technical designs and ensuring consistency to the AZ Architecture Roadmap, Information Services Strategy and High-Level Designs, as well as regulatory requirements and standards

  • Assists in the preparation of arguments, Request for Proposals, supplier selection and evaluation of proposals

  • Assists more senior employees in defining infrastructure solutions, ensuring alignment with the target benefits and value encouraged

  • Assists in the design, development, configuration and documentation of infrastructure components

  • Provides support with performance analysis and document solution components

  • Collections and collates management reporting information on existing infrastructure solutions and services

  • Performs maintenance and support activities, routine analysis and evaluation on resource requirements vital to maintain and/or expand service levels

  • Supports investigations of problems within existing solutions applying ITIL V3.0 principles

  • Must demonstrate the capability to identify and propose innovative solutions to improve service performance

Essential Skills and experience

  • Higher education with confirmed capability to perform in a sophisticated IT environment

  • Prior experience in an Information Services/Information Technology environment with good discernment

  • Experience of looking after 3rd party suppliers

  • Experience of working within a quality and compliance environment and application of policies, procedures and guidelines

  • Evidence of crafting, testing and maintaining solutions

  • Experience of sharing knowledge/ information and implementing any changes

  • Proficient in ITIL V3.0 practices and process

  • Good communication skills supporting joint working with geographically remote colleagues

  • Ability to interpret and communicate technical information into business language and in alignment with AZ business

Desirable Skills and experience

  • Degree level education or equivalent experience in computer science or similar

  • Good commercial awareness and understanding of the external market

  • Demonstrate initiative, strong customer orientation, and cross-cultural working
