We are looking for a talented candidate in either of the tworoles:i)anAssociate Directorinbioinformaticswithteam leadershipresponsibilities, or ii)anAssociate Principal Scientistinbioinformaticswith a track recordofscientificexcellence.

You’ll be part ofData Sciences & Quantitative Biologydepartment where we collaborate to support drugdiscoveryprojects aiming to impact patients’ lives.

In partnership withexperimentalistcolleagues, we provide computational analyses and solutions to enable and enhance output from our technical platforms driving our drug discovery efforts.

Particularly the candidate willbework on thediscoveryofdrugtargetsto support all therapy areas.

The ideal candidate should havea good understandingofdrugtarget identification and validation process in pre-clinicalsettings, andhaveexperiences of building pipelines and analysinghigh content / high throughput screening data.

What you'll do!

  • Provide scientific leaderships to a team of bioinformaticians, collaborateeffectively with experimentalists,statisticians andother data scientists toprovide computationalframeworksand pipelines withstatistical best practicessuited fordrugtarget identification and validation.

  • Prototyping, implementing and improving processes for the analysis of proprietary targetfunctionalscreening data and publicly available data, to derive insights androbusttarget hypotheses.

  • Communicate efficiently and effectively with biologists in translation of technical requirements.

  • Work in partnership withexperimentalists, andproactivelytake ownership to ensure high quality drug target hypotheses, and scientific excellence in the related tools, processes and results.

You will have experiences of

  • PhD in bioinformatics, statistics, computer science or a related computational subject area.

  • 5+ yearsacademic or industrial R&Dexperiencesin the molecular biology fieldfollowingaPhD course.

  • Experiences in building pipelines,analyticalalgorithms/packages, statistical best practices forthe analysis ofhigh dimensional screening datato drive biological insights.

  • Experience with relevant computational tools such as R and Python.

  • Interdisciplinary communication skills.

Desirable experiences

  • Knowledge and experiences of biological assays, molecular drug target assessment and CRISPR technology.

  • Knowledge and experience in phenotypic screening with arrayed/pooled CRISPR methods.

  • Knowledge and experience in the analysis of data and information from publicly available databases (e.g.Pharos, Open Targets).

  • Demonstrated scientific leadership with high quality publications, delivered projects or otherevidences.

  • For theAssociate Directorrole:experience in leading, managing anddevelopingmore junior colleagues.
