Global Talent Scout ~ Commercial

Location: Barcelona

Are you ready to unleash your entrepreneurial spirit and make a real impact on patients' lives? We are looking for a Global Talent Scout (GTS) - Commercial to join our Talent Acquisition team at AstraZeneca. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a dedicated global team that's powering AstraZeneca to better serve patients, every day!

The GTS is a member of AstraZeneca's industry leading talent scouting team, reporting to the Global Talent Scout & Capability Lead. With a solid background in executive search, the GTS will develop strategic senior talent pools aligned with business goals. This role involves collaboration with business and HR leaders to devise both internal and external talent search strategies.

As a key figure within talent scouting organisation, the GTS is viewed as a subject matter expert in the fields of talent search and engagement and will use their skills and experience to coach junior colleagues within the team. As a senior talent acquisition professional, the GTS will possess the skills and capabilities to effectively engage and influence top-level executives.

Key Accountabilities

  • Serves as a strategic advisor for talent to business leaders.
  • Collaborates with HR to create and implement talent and people strategies, focusing on talent pipelining.
  • Designs and implements a long-term external talent sourcing strategy.
  • Builds and converts external talent pipelines for critical roles into successful hires.
  • Manages a pool of external candidates to optimize hiring efficiency and cost.
  • Partners with senior leaders to understand talent needs and identify gaps for pipeline expansion.
  • Forecasts global talent needs for critical areas over a 1-3 year period.
  • Develops networks to maintain active talent pipelines for critical areas.
  • Shares talent insights across the business for global engagement.
  • Aligns external scouting with internal talent practices to ensure objective benchmarking.
  • Networks at global events to connect with and assess talent for current and future business needs.
  • Facilitates high-level discussions on external talent across business units.
  • Oversees external succession planning for SET members and works to meet succession goals.

Essential Skills/Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent.
  • 10 years’ relevant Talent Acquisition experience.
  • Significant experience in internal talent scouting or executive search, specifically in pharma/biotech sectors.
  • Expertise in specific Therapy or Capability Areas within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Adaptability within fast-paced and dynamic environments.
  • Established network within relevant Therapy or Capability Areas.
  • Proven understanding of the business and pharmaceutical industry.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Multilingual skills.
  • Proficient in digital talent sourcing and management tools.
  • Understanding of drug development and commercialization.
  • Experience in applying external search strategies for internal talent development.
