Global Brand Director, Core Respiratory (Digital)

As Brand Director, Core Respiratory you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients’ lives. The Respiratory and Immunology Global Therapy Area bridges science and commercial, integrating corporate, portfolio, and product strategies. It provides strategic direction and operational support from early-stage research through to commercialization.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
The Core Respiratory Team is part of the Respiratory and Immunology Global Therapy Area. The team is responsible for approximately 3.5 billon USD of sales! through current and future blockbusters such as Symbicort (growth) and PT027 (Pre-launch)!
The Global Brand Director, Core Respiratory will be a key global leader for Symbicort, the largest medicine in the Biopharmaceutical Business Unit. In 2020 Symbicort grew 10% and its growth will be driven by two opportunities: China / Emerging Markets and the launch of Anti-inflammatory Reliever across all severities of asthma.
The preferred candidate will expand and improve this flagship campaign and its impact through expertise and an innovative, patient centric mentality. Strengthening and improving both patient engagement and activation will require the application of creative technology based upon an understanding of the patient journey.
This role requires an elevated level of cross functional collaboration and leadership, strategic understanding and digital commercial experience. You will work cross functionally with colleagues across AZ; both in the globally and with key Marketing Companies. You will be an active member of the global XFT, provide commercial drive into global strategy, and build and deliver innovative and patient centric solutions.
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent)
Broad commercial experience within a market and / or above country roles
Experience in digital solutions, omnichannel capabilities and digital innovation
Experience on implementation of small-scale pilots and scale up
Confirmed experience of engaging with and demonstrating insights from external customers e.g. KEEs, prescribers, payors, patients
Strong thinking, decision making, and problem solving
Strong leadership and influencing skills
Consistent track record to collaborate across functional boundaries
Strong analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
Significant experience in the respiratory therapeutic area is desirable.
