New Product Planning Brand Manager

Our Oncology Business is responsible for driving growth and maximising commercial performance of the global oncology and haematology portfolio within AstraZeneca. In addition, it plays a critical role in setting the Oncology portfolio and product strategy for the organisation. We see the oncology revolution as a once in a lifetime scientific opportunity with the potential to be the biggest step change since combinatorial chemistry and antibiotics, with 20 years of growth to come.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

  • To support and participate in the development of forward-looking strategies, key early stage product planning opportunities, market positioning and product profiles for oncology pipeline products by synthesizing primary and secondary inputs that will inform commercialisation plan
  • Understand the therapeutic market trends from a commercial, managed markets, clinical, and scientific perspective and stay up to date in market developments and changes in competitive landscape for key therapeutic areas/markets
  • Partners effectively with stakeholders to align on launch plans and commercial opportunities
  • Participate as member of brand teams in the early stage development of the planning to ensuring strategic commercial insight with internal business partners (medical, marketing, P&MA etc.) to optimize the market value of product

Essential Requirements

  • Marketing or the relevant experience in pharmaceutical industry
  • Knowledge of business process and pharmaceutical marketing
  • Relevant oncology therapeutic areas knowledge or science background
  • Analytical skills (both qualitative and quantitative)
  • Independent and self-motivated
  • Open, cooperative and flexible mind-set
  • Leadership/facilitation ability for cross functional work

Desirable attributes:

  • Pharmaceutical experience
  • Knowledge on R&D/regulation/pricing of pharmaceutical products
  • Portfolio management of pharmaceutical products or new products
  • Therapy area experience
  • Sales & Marketing experience
  • Commercial business insight
  • Project management skill and established ability
