Franchise Lead - Rare Diseases

About the role:
The Franchise Lead is responsible for achieving the revenue & profit targets and deliver against growth expectations. The incumbent encourages and motivates the Sales- and Marketing therapeutic area and provides strategic & operational direction and leadership.
The Franchise Lead is accountable for implementing a collaborative culture and driving cross-functional partnership across all functions. In collaboration with the International therapeutic area teams and relevant partners, the incumbent leads the analysis of the current business and drives interpretation of insights to design, implement, supervise and adjust the commercial strategy and tactics, ensuring seamless and efficient implementation of customer-facing and digital/multichannel commercial initiatives.
You will be responsible for:
Performance
Leading the development of country-level forecast incl. operating expense, revenue, patient dynamics and supply.
Ensure local plans are developed, implemented and monitored in conjunction with relevant cross functional teams and aligned with the Global/international brand strategy.
Delivering financial/commercial KPIs (e.g. product revenue and earnings targets), managing the Franchise P&L and ensuring effective financial planning. Continually review financial results to identify variances; develop and supervise action plans to address issues.
Provide effective oversight and leadership of the business planning processes (incl. business cases) and that resources are effectively deployed to optimize business success.
Providing strategic insight and direction to develop current and new business opportunities and improve growth potential. Build the strategic direction and vision for the country, set ambitious sales objectives and drive the growth of the therapeutic area.
Organization
Active member of the Canadian RDU Leadership team, contributing to key initiatives and above-brand projects within the local market.
Establishing and maintaining positive relationships and acting as the face of the therapeutic area within the country; work with major partners in the field including but not limited to Key Opinion Leaders supporting the organization in achieving its goals and objectives.
Communicating proactively and relevantly to the International TA Leadership Team to ensure alignment of local/regional priorities
Developing effective and collaborative working relationships with cross functional leaders.
Encouraging new ways of working (digital/multichannel) and continuously measure success of commercial activities.
People
Lead a team of Sales and Marketing leaders and other commercial team members focusing on performance and personal development that is aligned to innovative commercialization, including the capabilities needed to support the evolution in our go-to-market strategy.
Encouraging a leadership culture which attracts, develops and retains top talent candidates, helping to build and shape a talent pool that will continue to drive the future success of the organization.
As a key collaborator, managing, motivating, and developing the Sales, Marketing and Brand Team by setting clear objectives, effective mentoring, evaluation and feedback on performance
Developing and implementing a People & Culture Plan with strong emphasis on individual.
Developing talent identification/management and succession planning as well as strategic focus on long term capability development.
You will need to have:
Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in business administration, or science
At least 15 years of experience within the Pharmaceutical Industry; with a minimum of 5 years in a people management position with experience leading both the sales and marketing functions
Experience working in a matrix-organisation and fast pace environment
Experienced in omnichannel marketing and lead generation principles
Proven track record in achieving commercial brand goals on budget
Demonstrated planning & project management, analytical, organisation skills, with strong attention to detail
Good understanding market access environment in Canada
Results driven; high customer orientation; strong eye for business
Demonstrated leadership skills with an open and enterprise attitude
High dedication; self-motivated; optimistic demeanour and strong emotional intelligence
Proficient in English language both verbally and in writing
We would prefer for you to have:
MBA or equivalent is preferred
Experience in a Biotechnology environment and/or rare disease
Therapeutic area expertise
Proficiency in French
