Data Product Delivery Lead

Accountabilities:
We are looking for a Data Product Lead to join our Data, Analytics & AI group for Operations IT. This group supports various business areas such as Develop, Manufacture, Supply Chain, Quality and Procurement with data-driven solutions and insights.
You will play a pivotal role in crafting the creative vision for data products. Your high-level expertise will drive the development and enhancement of data-driven solutions that empower our users and accelerate our journey into Artificial Intelligence. You will be responsible for providing strategic vision for data products, championing data-driven decision-making and innovation, implementing data product strategies, ensuring quality assurance, and handling demand and requirements.

Strategic Vision
Provide strategy for data products.
Assess and improve the maturity of data products enduring Performance Metrics are in place measuring data product efficiency.
Performance Metrics: Define KPIs to measure product efficiency.
Championing Data-Driven Decision-Making
Championing Innovation.
Champion data-driven decision-making and innovation using data products.
Data Product Execution
Workstream and Milestone Management
Strategic Alignment
Data Product Status Reporting
Roadmap Development & Consumption
Planning Support and Ingestion
Demand and Requirements
Identify Domains and Data Products to meet use case requirements and map and understand which data products can be reused or what needs to be built, collaborating with the business.
Engage with Domains to articulate business demand ensuring the Domain Product Managers take ownership to drive forward.
Ensure the pods own and take accountability for their backlog and provide regular updates on progress.
Attend the quarterly demand planning session to understand future demand to connect with the delivery teams.
Resolves prioritization conflicts within domains (acts as co-ordination)
Quality Assurance
Collaborate closely with different domains and projects to ensure adherence to the data product operating model.
Verify that both business and IT teams understand the model’s principles and practices.
Supervise the consistency of data product delivery timelines across various domains and projects.
Identify deviations: If one domain or project is now building data products in 1 week, investigate why others may deviate from this standard.
Engage with the scrum master during regular retrospectives.
Refine and enhance the ways of working (WoW) to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Ensure velocity parity: Collaborate to match the pace of work across different domains and projects.
Essential Skills/Experience:
A passion for technology and continuous improvement
Shown experience in leading and developing teams in delivering Data Products
A proven understanding of data mesh concepts
An understanding of data management, Cloud computing (ideally AWS), and relevant technologies
Critical thinking – understanding challenges, opportunities through evolving technology/methodology and formulating into tangible roadmaps with clear business value
Leadership abilities, with a shown history of continually growing and motivating teams
Effective communication and interpersonal skills
High project management skills
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field
Desirable Skills/Experience:
Knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, particularly around data requirements and compliance standards (GXP, GDPR, SoX etc)
Experience in life sciences and healthcare
