The R&D Data Office, within DS&AI, is a key organisation to deliver upon AstraZeneca’s strategy. Data Office operates a central capability, with R&D wide accountability, to ensure that we harness the power of data to drive innovative science. Data Office will govern data, drive data quality and ensure our data is readied for analytics, crafting paved-paths for scientists to perform data-driven research, without compromising our legal restrictions or ethical principles.


Within our Data Office, your role as Data Provisioning Operations Specialist, will be to coordinate end-to-end activities associated to Data Provisioning requests. In this role you will not be asked to run the Data Science or Data Processing projects, but to:

  • Coordinate the data provisioning requests and associated information.
  • Assess the requests according to AstraZeneca data governance policy, data sharing standards and requirements.
  • Ensure that data requestor needs are met as each request goes through the process.
  • Monitor request progress, handle and seek mitigation for any issues that might arise.
  • Work with the Data Provisioning team and other partners to eliminate blockers, bringing in other specialists where clarifications are required.
  • Act as a central coordinator for projects requiring multi-functional activities, including arranging, hosting and minuting meetings, coordinate actions to-time and to-task.
  • Support the Data Provisioning team in considering ways to improve processes and value to our customers.
  • Contribute to department metrics on performance efficiency.

Our requirements

  • Proven work experience as a Project Leader/Manager or similar role.
  • Solid organizational skills, including multitasking and time-management.
  • Fluent English is a must.
  • Good communication and teamwork skills.
  • Must have a high-level attention to details.
  • BSc in Business Administration, Economics, Management or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Leadership Core Capabilities: Influencing, innovation, business awareness.
  • To be successful in this role you must have excellent critical thinking skills, enjoy succeeding in task-orientated goals, and be able to connect with partners from different experience levels and cultures.
  • We do not require the Data Science or Data Engineering experience.

Optional

  • Experience from Pharma industry
  • Experience in Data Management or Data Governance is a plus.
