ABOUT THE ROLE

The “Product Lead - Wireless” role will focus on shaping the future of Network technology architecture and embedding new products, processes, and standards for all aspects of the domain across AZ. The role holder will be owning end to end product life / maturity cycle from Evaluation, Selection, Purchase, Design, Implement, Operate, Optimize and Retire.

This role holder along with his dedicated team of solution engineers will work closely with the Network ops/solutions and TSM teams, and multi-functional technology teams like Cyber Security, Cloud and WES teams. Etc.

A trusted advisor to senior leadership in the IT function, the successful candidate will need to demonstrate strong influencing and interpersonal skills - to ensure that the strategic plans and roadmaps will become a reality.

Scope

• In collaboration with the relevant stakeholders, define the Wireless Network Vision and drive all aspects of the Network Strategy, ensuring that technology-based solutions and services are fully supported by the right architectures, systems and operating models. 

• Accountable for Global AstraZeneca Network Services, Projects, Operations, Security, and budget 

• Partner with cross technology teams to deliver the innovation, development and deployment of Next Gen Wireless Network, LAN/WAN, Cloud, Security and conferencing and collaboration technology. solutions providing strong leadership and senior level advocacy for their delivery.  

• Partner with the line of business to understand evolving work trends in design, engineering and modelling applications which need to be supported by the underlying network infrastructure. 

Responsibilities

• Actively own and lead the technical vision to success though partnering with various solution product owners, Process owners, Business/ BTGs and Enterprise Architects and external vendors.

• Own end-to-end high-level design of Wireless Network products and processes, crafting the crucial link between AZ strategic vision into Network solution engineering in line to wireless first strategy.

• Provide strategic and thought leadership and vision for how we can efficiently deliver modern wireless network capabilities - to enable seamless connectivity of users to workloads while also enabling a simplified user experience.

• Ensure evergreen solution roadmaps (existing and new capabilities) that bring to life and support ground-breaking change.

• Continual expansion of our solutions and process knowledge and network of influence; constantly seeking ways to multi-functionally improve benefits and harmonies of AZ products.

• Evaluate all business requirements and identify solutions how the different elements of business, information, and technology can be applied to solve a specific problem.

• Influence portfolio investments for key technology solutions in line with our strategic roadmaps

• Provide thought leadership and pragmatism to challenge and influence strategic direction ensuring that business process, data, applications, and technology come together to meet business needs.

• Own vendor management along with other network product leads and actively involved in ensuring fully utilizing the product value.

• Expertise in Global Wireless network design and implementation on Cisco and Ruckus Wireless.

• Expertise in wireless site surveys, passive, active, and predictive.

• Experience in designing wireless solution for large transformation projects for performance and scale.

• Demonstrated expertise in 802.11, LTE and DAS wireless technologies and standards, as well as emerging technologies (such as 5G, WiFi 6/6E)

• Expertise in planning and designing Wireless transformation and migration methods Design, Solution,

• Build and Deployment Experience on below.

• Enterprise grade wireless / mobility design and implementation for campus and small offices, smart and autonomous factories.

• WiFi Networks - Wireless Design, Site Survey experience (Air magnet, Ekahau) , dot1x, EAP TLS, Flex connect.

• 802.11, LTE and DAS wireless technologies and standards, as well as emerging technologies (such as 5G, WiFi 6/6E, Industrial wireless)

• Indoor and outdoor location-based services,

• Hyper-aware facilities – wireless connectivity to IOT devices.

• OT / Factory networks experience is desirable.

• Expertise in preparing high quality CRD HLD and LLD design documents.

• Identifying cross functional dependencies

• Experience in sequencing the activities, scheduling the tasks, and preparing project plan.

• Experience in planning and conducting vigorous wireless network tests and generating a detailed test reports from performance, security, scale and resiliency point of view.

• Design and implementation of wireless solution in multi-tenant environment

• Good knowledge on public cloud connectivity Cloud exchange, direct connect, Express route to Public Cloud provides.

Technology Competencies and Personal Characteristics

• CCIE or equivalent certification with Minimum 15 years of relevant working experience, with the last 5 years in large-scale network architecture design, deployment, integration, and implementation.

• Excellent communications skills, with the ability to explain complex technological ideas and concepts in a way that is understandable to a non-technical audience.  

• Confident presenter who likes to get in front of stakeholders or any audience to espouse their and the company’s technology vision and the merits of products and services.  

• Demonstrated management experience of matrix and multicultural teams over several continents. 

• Experience of formulating and implementing successful strategic plans in alignment with our security and sustainability strategy.  

• Experience working with Senior IT leadership in a strategic context.  

• Ability to build and maintain partnerships.  

• Significant experience working with vendors, professional services, and providers. 

• Having the ability to lead and inspire individuals to adopt a pro-active and predictive mindset over the course of the product lifecycle.

• Encourages the personal development of individuals and teams aligned with the Network strategy.  

• Understanding of network patterns and approaches 

• Bring Automation first mindset.

• Must have in-depth and technical hands-on experience in SD-WAN, Wireless, Network Security

• Strong technical knowledge in high availability design, implementation, optimization, and operations.

• Candidate with large enterprise working experience is an added advantage.
